Task: Watchers glitched?

Mass effect: andromeda, xbox one pc playstation 4, mass effect: andromeda (xbox one).

  • For some reason I am unable to post this on EA Answers so hopefully someone can answer here or post this for me. During the Task: Watchers mission I've made it up to the Follow The Nav Point objective and defeated all of the enemies at the location but once this is done the next objective doesn't start, I've tried Fast Traveling away and coming back, going to a different planet and coming back, even tried loading an earlier save and doing the mission over still nothing. The last straw was reinstalling the game but still the mission won't continue anyone else have this bug? SonOfAnarchy91 - 6 years ago - report

  • I just figured this out (at least on my game). I found the Navpoint, Sam told me "Stand By", I killed a bunch of kett. No enemies left, no console. From one side of the camp at the navpoint, just barely in sight range (super easy to miss), there was another kett camp like this one. Went there, killed kett, found console Makersmonkey - 6 years ago - report 1   0
  • I've just encountered the same issue. SAM just says "stand by" and nothing's happening. Dunno if it's related or not, but I reloaded an auto save to try to fix, and now all the enemies here seem to be taking like, 3x the damage they normally do. SpacewardTrout - 6 years ago - report 0   0
  • I have the same issue. From what I've read there is a terminal on top of the building that's supposed to be accessible after you defeat all enemies. It's a small glitch in a small side quest so it probably won't be fixed for a while. I'm gonna keep checking back after they release patches. Bethi89 - 6 years ago - report 0   0
  • Eff you bioware once again. This is the 4th quest that glitched for me making them forever incomplete. neo1674 - 6 years ago - report 0   0

'Mass Effect: Andromeda' "Task: Watchers": How to rid Prodromos of surveillance

mass effect andromeda task watchers bug

There are several missions in Mass Effect: Andromeda that require you to further investigate issues taking place on the planets you visit. Many of those will have you tangling with the Kett, including the "Task: Watchers" mission on Eos . This mission will be triggered when you run across a surveillance device in a Kett camp that monitors what the colonists of your first colony Prodromos are doing at all times.

You'll need to make sure these devices are taken out to keep the citizens of Prodromos safe.

Mass Effect: Andromeda  "Task: Watchers": How to rid Prodromos of surveillance

As you explore Eos, you'll happen upon Kett surveillance devices, according to the Mass Effect Wikia . The surveillance devices' locations are randomized, so they can find them anywhere the Kett have set up camp on the world. SAM will let you know when you've destroyed one and will state that he needs additional information before a true source can be located.

Whenever Ryder is close to finding a surveillance device, SAM will notify you of its presence as well. When you find each one you need to give them a few shots with your gun to blow them away. You'll need to take out four entire devices before SAM will give you a nav-point to find out their origin, so you can clear them out for good.

Once you've found the source, SAM will guide you to it with the nav-point on your map. Kill all the Kett around the area before you can access the main console. SAM will advise Ryder to scramble the data on the console, and that will send more Kett over. Dispatch them, and then let SAM finish scrambling the data. Then you can destroy the console itself. Once you've done this, you've completed the mission.

Originally posted by jing : Most of the bugs and glitches that are commonly discussed about MEA when it was first released have largely been fixed. There's still the occasional bug coming up, but nothing that's really buggy. Most of the old bugs were more graphical and animation related issues than actual game breaking bugs. As for if this game is abandoned? Yes. After around September or October of 2017 roughly, the development team that created and updated MEA was disbanded by EA. We were left only one producer who stuck around as long as possible and tried the best they could to get some MEA MP updates out so the MP side wouldn't die due to lack of future developer content too early. (MP weapon updates primarily) But again, the MP portion is still active, and you are unlikely to run into any serious issues on the SP side. If you do, most likely it'll be game breaking (unable to launch MEA at all) and in that case (if you can't fix it to get it to launch), just get a refund as soon as possible.

Known Major Bugs

  • When using the Facial Reconstruction feature aboard the Tempest, the game crashes upon loading the character creation screen. This appears to only occur with Ryders created after the 1.10 patch.

Various Minor Bugs

  • Occasionally a mission may bug out and you're unable to complete it (e.g. enemies do not appear, all enemies cleared but mission does not progress, etc.). We suggest reloading from the most recent autosave point in order to proceed.

Running list of bugs/glitches (minor spoilers).

ShakeThatBear14

Posted on 28 April 17 at 11:54, Edited on 16 May 17 at 16:02 by ShakeThatBear14 Constantly running into little bugs/problems with this game. At first they were no big deal but they're starting to pile up and causing problems. So thought I would start a running list of problems for everyone to post in so we might save someone from starting the game blind only to run into a game breaking bug halfway through. To clarify, this is for bugs that negatively effect game/achievement completion. I know the sub par facial expressions and the running animations are wonky, but I'd like to keep this list just for completion bugs. 1. Task: Shield Crafting -- the obvious one I'm sure everyone has run into. This task gets stuck in your journal no matter what. No idea how this hasn't been fixed yet. Somehow Bioware and EA are more concerned with adding hair texture than making the damn game completable. UPDATE: after patch 1.06 this has been removed from my journals "ADDITIONAL TASKS" and now appears in "COMPLETED MISSIONS" as "Task: Nomad Shield Crafting", but my completion percentage is still stuck at 98%. However this might simply because I am still missing a mission, so if someone else has had theirs bumped to 100% let me know so I can update this). 2. Task: Catch and Release -- Make a save before this quest! Half the time the cage bugs out and wont open, and the other half the guy isnt in the cage (or some people have found him dead). Had to do this one five or six times before it cleared for me. 3. Task: Remnant Data Cores -- I do not know this one for sure, but it had been awhile since I got one so I looked it up. Apparently these are missable which would ultimately leave a quest incomplete in your journal. Again, not sure on this one, just what I read. So you may want to make sure you're keeping up with these. ( UPDATE : There are 11 remnant data cores in a play through, you need 9 to complete the task. 5 are for sure - 1 on EOS through the story, and then 1 for each of the 4 architects. If you didn't get it when you beat the architect, then that just means you missed the chest. It doesn't go anywhere, so you can just return anytime and pick it up. The other 6 -- of which you need 4 -- are located in the vaults. Some vaults can only be entered once making those data cores missable. Thanks to Stevo6483 for pointing me towards the answer) 4. Mining Zones Placed to Close together Bug Out -- If you're a completion like me and like to clear all waypoints from the map this can be infuriating. For some reason the mining zones bug out when they're to close together. You can deplete one, but the second will stop showing minerals once it gets down around 'fair'. Your controller still vibrates like you've found some, but the mineral bars lay flat and you can't deploy the last drone needed to clear the zone. 5. Some Missions Don't Say "On Hold" When They Aren't Active -- while this might not directly deter game completion, it can be extremely annoying and frustrating. I actually think the "on hold" feature is great. It allows you to note unfinished missions and disregard them until said time, without having to activate and check every so often if a waypoint is available to resume the mission. But since the game conditions you to not have to worry about "on hold" missions, you naturally assume any mission without "on hold" can still be advanced. This had me pulling my hair out several times. Most notable with the TASK: BETTER CRAFTING. For the longest time I thought it was stuck. but not only is there a second part on a second planet, but also a third part. The inconsistent use of 'on hold" can be extremely confusing. 6. The Little Things That Matter (Quest) - During this quest you have to locate a couple anomalies (turn out to be satellites) in the galaxy map. After scanning and launching a probe for the second anomaly, the map will bug out and freeze up when you try to zoom in on the it. There is a work around, but you want to make sure you have a recent save before attempting these scans. It took me a couple times before I was able to clear this bug. ( WORKAROUND: Launch Probe. Travel to another planet - it can be in the same system. and you dont have to land, you just have to move the tempest. then exit the galaxy map. return to galaxy map. then select and travel to the anomaly while quickly skipping the animation) Also want to add just a few general annoyances while I'm venting. -journal and inventory are bugged with a constant '!' even though there isnt anything new -why aren't there more email terminals!?!? Missions update when you get off tempest, which means you have to turn around and get back on so you can check your email. If you don't you will fail part of a loyalty mission, or some other task because you will miss the initial email... since its normal for emails to expire and exit your inbox if you don't read them quickly, right? -feeding off that last point, the Nexus was horribly designed when it comes to game flow. You end up riding the shuttle five times just to scan four things that arent what you're looking for, and then end up back in the room you started in. There are more, and I will add to this list in a bit. But these were the ones that came to mind when I was venting and writing this. Overall, when the game is flowing and playing the way the developers had in mind I really do enjoy it a lot. I loved the long architect battles, taking on endless waves of kett while clearing their headquarters, and creeping through vaults checking all the corners. And I really liked the team aspect and building individual relationships with your differing teammates. But like I said at the start, there's just a whole bunch of small stuff that doesn't matter at first, but towards the end you're just like "COME ON ALREADY! YOU PUSHED THIS GAME BACK THREE TIMES!!" Please feel free to comment and add bugs/problems/nuisances you've found. PaperCircle was kind enough to add a few that he ran into... PaperCircle said: EOS 1.) Defeating the Kett- Besides the infinite amount of spawning enemies on the top of the base. Once you get inside to the boss, if you retreat back to the surface the boss will follow you. Because the boss can teleport, he can disappear/get stuck in a wall. Only way to fix this is reloading an earlier save and fighting him in the room you find him in. VOELD 2.) Earn Your Badge.- has two separate glitches. In the remnant fight, if you use a cobra to kill the Destroyer, it won't spawn the remaining enemies. Also, you can't turn this quest in at times. I was able to complete this by reloading a prior save, then "completing" the quest after only doing one of the tasks. Then the journal marked it complete after doing all 3 tasks. 3.) Missing Scientists- If you go to the Architect by driving over the mountain, you won't trigger the "follow the scientists' path" objective and your journal won check this quest off even after you turn it in. KADARA 4.) Outlaw Weapon Crafting- you can complete this before you're ever given the quest. But the "!" will disappear in completed quests once you're given the quest. 5.) Kadara Ransom- After finding all the data pads you are given a nag point to the ambush site. You're suppose to scan the bodies. They weren't scannable until I reloaded a save from like 30 seconds before. Without scanning, Ryder all of the sudden acted liked I had scanned the bodies and let the quest continue. 6.) Running a fever- Quest is not obtainable. And a few things not necessarily gamebreaking, but you will want to be aware of before starting.. PaperCircle said: No one explained fusion mods to me. I didn't know they were unique items. And couple the negative effects with not all the cryo podss being shown from the get go, especially the one involving fusion mods, and an original starting inventory of 50 slots. And you get people like me throwing fusion mods away early because they sucked before understanding what they can do. Then you can't even unlock all of the crying pods! The game doesn't warn you of this! You can max out all of your powers, but not the crying pods???? Tasks should at least tell you what part of the map to explore. And a warning about Remnant data cores being missable would have been nice. Good thing the internet saved me on that one before I got too far. Expanding on what he said.... -DO NOT SELL FUSION MODS. They are unique, and can be upgraded through cyro pods to do away with the negative stats. A good rule of thumb is not to sell anything you don't know what it is. Sell Salvage always, and then lower level weapons. I played with a Sniper and shotgun, so if I was using a level V sniper, I would get rid of all my level III and IV Snipers because there isnt any logical reason to use them. But I would keep one of each level V sniper and shotgun I had in case I wanted to try it out before crafting. I would then pretty much sell every pistol and AR I had except the best one of each that I had found (maybe two in rare cases) just in case I ever needed it for some reason. Because the truth is your primary weapon and armor set is not going to be found items. You're going to craft that stuff for optimization. Same strategy goes for mods/armor. Don't need that Shotgun Barrel II if you're already using a Shotgun Barrel III. I know it might be hard to sell that first Ultra Rare Black Widow II that you found, but that weapon is not going to be anything special/or used at all once weapon levels increased. Plus theres a cyro pod that drops Hidden Chaches everywhere which all have Rare and Ultra Rare weapons. (Note Mods are different than Fusion Mods ==> Mods - OK to Sell. Fusion Mods - DO NOT SELL> -THERE ARE ONLY 11 REMNANT DATA CORES IN THE GAME and many are missable you need to take note of where they are and how you get them each time you arrive on a new planet. You get this in the first hour of game play, and it lasts until the end. I almost slipped up and failed this right at the end. -PLAN AND BUDGET YOUR AVP POINTS. you won't have enough to get every Cyro pod so take not of what you need and what is essential. Don't be wasteful here.

Posted on 01 May 17 at 05:17, Edited on 02 May 17 at 17:37 by PaperCircle You're right. The amount of quest breaking bugs in this game are infuriating! Here are some that I ran into that you haven't mentioned. EOS 1.) Defeating the Kett- Besides the infinite amount of spawning enemies on the top of the base. But the "!" will disappear in completed quests once you're given the quest. I kind of had the reverse happen where my journal tab (and inventory for that matter) has a '!' at all times. Its infuriating when any aspect of your journal notifications bug in an RPG because you end up always having to look through everything. Not sure what caused it though. I luckily didn't run into the outlaw weapon crafting bug, which was honestly just dumb luck -- to be honest I realized early that there is a massssiveeeee shorage of credits available throughout the game to get curios and nonchalant about what blueprints you research. Until you get towards the end of the game and have upgraded your cyro pods for incremental drops of research points you don't really have enough to fully research but more than maybe two weapons. And you don't even know that once you upgrade a weapon to V they open five more options called 'Advanced XXX IV' why they did that idk, because most people ration there points.

Posted on 02 May 17 at 17:33, Edited on 02 May 17 at 17:36 by PaperCircle Yeah this game also has a huge problem with not explaining game mechanics. For example: Crafting is a mess. No one explained fusion mods to me. And a warning about Remnant data cores being missable would have been nice. Good thing the internet saved me on that one before I got too far. Then finally if you pay attention to quests, you'll see side quests that either assume you've gotten farther in the main quest or have done another side quest first. It'll screw it up either from a story perspective because you haven't met a character or experienced an event yet or you're having to figure out how to do something for the first time because the "tutorial" is later in the game. But of course you haven't done that quest yet because you're doing all the quests in an area that you can to get experience. There are times I love this game and then there are times I want to throw my controller through the tv. I feel like a group of 10 testers should have caught most of these bugs/mistakes. They are that obvious. But no one cared and we shipped an unfinished product.

Posted on 02 May 17 at 22:44 PaperCircle I completely agree with you. When the action is popping off in a vault crawl and you're immersed in the action it is a great game. But then you'll get out and 20 minutes later you'll be out roaming and realized you missed a data core in that vault and failed a mission you've been carrying around since basically the first hour of gameplay. Or you will spend 45 minutes up grading all your gear -- since it doesn't show equipped items I have to switch out 80 times to check because I'm not positive what is a duplicate and what is not.And then once you put an augmentation on during crafting, it doesnt even tell what it is when you highlight that circle . It just gives you a symbol instead of just saying 'Vintage Heat Sink", so you have to remember what you have put on already. Not to mention, the concept of rebuilding a new item for every weapon/armor level is tedious. every so often after leveling up you have to break everything down and do it all again to make sure your armor/weapons are up to par. No idea why they didn't just follow the fantastic crafting conception as The Witcher 3. One weapon/piece of armor is continually upgraded, etc. ... and then after doing all that I will forget to attach the mods that I bought for my new weapons or something. Crafting is just wayyyyyy to long of a walk for a small drink of water... and its a walk you have to continuously make. Crafting = a mess

Posted on 02 May 17 at 23:17 Also quick side note to anyone reading this attempting to plan ahead... I know the original the formatting isn't very uniform and clear at the moment. Once my play through is done I will reorganize it into a more reader friendly format. For now I just wanted to get all possible information up there in the original post so players have it available.

Posted on 08 May 17 at 21:55, Edited on 08 May 17 at 22:33 by PaperCircle Voeld: Resistance Trap Quest Triggers but it doesn't appear in the log at all, before or after completing the quest. Tried reloading, nothing changed. Was able to get the EXP and Viability from completing this quest. Voeld: White Death. Quest isn't triggering. So either I completed this quest earlier in the game and it also isn't in my log, or this quest is not triggering. It's been a few weeks since I've been on Voeld, so both are possible.

Posted on 16 May 17 at 15:54 Crafting/merchents in the general area of levels 60-70 (the level most people who complete everything have been for the end of the game) messes up in a way thats hard to explain. For me I can't craft level 8 armor legs, armor vendors are completely empty (out of stock), and weapons merchants have level 1 weapons instead of level 8. very odd. not game breaking since it does fix after several levels, but figured its worth a heads up for anyone nearing the end of the game. Make sure you're fully upgraded as soon as you hit level 60. Also, after this latest patch, my codex has a "!" stuck next to "the scourge" in the "planets and locations" section. Finally, I have completed the game, my journal has no missions (and not getting anymore from anyone I talk to), but my progress only says 98%. Assuming this has to do with the "task:shield crafting". Even though the latest patch removed it from my journal (at least I'm assuming that is why its no longer there), I don't think the game considers it "completed" -- leaving the game unable to be 100%.

Posted on 16 May 17 at 15:55 Also, my galaxy map is at 98% after completing the game. All clusters/planets say 100% and haven't found any additional anomalies.
