Is homework hotline really free.

Yes! We are a toll-free number and do not charge for our tutoring service.

What Times is Homework Hotline Available?

Homework Hotline is open four (4) nights a week, Monday–Thursday, from 6–9 P.M. PST. We close for major holidays as well as revolve around the Los Angeles area school districts’ academic calendar. Check out our calendar to see if were are open!

Who Can Use Homework Hotline?

Students in grade 4 through 12 who need assistance with their math and/or science assignments (e.g. homework, projects, studying for a test).

Is Homework Hotline Only Over the Phone?

We currently only operate over the phone. We do not offer any in-person tutoring. Our tutors are specifically trained to collaborate with the caller to ensure a meaningful and impactful tutoring session.

Who is Helping Me/My Student Through their Homework?

Our tutors are all Harvey Mudd College students. Harvey Mudd College is one of the top-ranked STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) schools in the nation. Students are selected based on their technical expertise and their superior communication skills. They get year-round training to ensure the best possible service.

Are the Homework Hotline Tutors trained for Tutoring?

Yes! Our tutors get year-round training to enhance their technical and communication skills. Homework Hotline is committed to ensuring the best possible service.

How Do I Get Started? Do I Have to Register?

CALL US! We are a completely free service with no need for any form of registration. It’s as simple as picking up the phone and dialing our number.

Homework Hotline is a live statewide show designed for children in grades 4 through 12. The program – which is now in its 27th season – provides the tools students need to succeed both in and out of the classroom, and supports academic achievement across a variety of learning standards. 

Our main goal is to support student learning by making connections between classroom content and real world situations. Homework Hotline also   presents daily thematic segments on health, animals, book reviews, history, environment issues, and people and places in New York State. Homework Hotline sends out daily updates and helpful hints on our social media pages.
