  • Talkroute does not try to sneak in hidden fees or unexpected add-ons to their service

4. eVoice: $10 to $14 per month

Looking for virtual business phone services? eVoice is a business phone system that acts like other business phone systems, but the difference is you can be anywhere and receive your calls using their cloud-based PBX phone line. They even offer a live receptionist service that will take your calls and provide a host of administrative services, like booking appointments, collecting customer information, processing payments, you name it.

eVoice Pros and Cons:

  • eVoice offers a 30-day money-back guarantee, which is among the longest of the services we’ve researched
  • You can get a free, professionally recorded greeting if requested within seven days of setting up your account
  • eVoice offers the most phone numbers available per plan, starting with three numbers on the lowest plan and up to 33 numbers on the most expensive plan
  • A credit card must be entered to start a free trial, and from customer reviews available online, the cancellation policy of eVoice is not reliable
  • A phone number cannot be ported or used on services outside of eVoice unless it had been ported into eVoice in the first place and requires a $40 service fee to complete
  • Unlike many competitors, eVoice does not have an unlimited minutes plan for calls to the US and Canada. While this lowers the entry price, it can lead to a more variable monthly cost
  • Call forwarding
  • Virtual answering service
  • Advanced call routing
  • Call screening

  • Call queueing

Kixie Pros and Cons:

How Do I Get My Business Phone Number Listed on Google?

Frequently asked questions, why do i need a business phone line.

Aside from the need to keep your personal calls personal and your business calls professional, you need a dedicated business phone number for other reasons.

Cash flow is a real problem for most new businesses. A cash shortage is actually the number one reason new businesses fail.

Unbeknownst to most new business owners, building  business credit  is more complicated than building personal credit.

Not having a dedicated business line with 411 directory assistance tends to be a red flag to lenders. It tells lenders you may not be as serious about your business as they'd like for you to be.

Not having a business phone line may also prevent you from qualifying for certain business insurance. Some insurers require you to have a business phone line before they cover your business.

Having a business phone plan will likely lower your business insurance rates, which is another reason to have a business phone number.

What is the best phone system for a small business?

The best small business phone systems will vary depending on a business's needs. In general, almost all phone services tend to have the same basic features, like call forwarding and call recording. However, many small businesses require features like voice over internet protocol (VoIP) for their business phone plans.

How much does it cost to get a business phone line?

All business phone services charge different rates. Most have a tiered pricing structure that starts with a basic small business phone plan, offering a local business phone number or toll-free number along with other VoIP business phone services. The higher-tiered plans include more premium features like video conferencing, web conferencing, conference calls, call centers, along with all the basic standard features as well.

What is the cheapest business phone service?

You want to go with a business VoIP provider in most circumstances. VoIP business phone systems tend to be less costly, offer more features, and better technologies to serve a wider range of business needs. Small businesses can take advantage of VoIP phone technology to create more nimble, easier-to-manage organizations.

Westminster, CA Business Phone Service Providers

The right phone service provider can help make your Westminster, CA business a great success. Most businesses, both small and large, have an online presence, but the telephone is still the first way that customers get in touch with a company they would like to do business with. Because of this, the right phone service is essential for anyone who owns or operates a business, so you will want to make sure you find a phone service provider that gives you the service that you need. The company you choose should be both affordable and reliable and able to provide you with different features. Before you make your final decision as to who you want to use, evaluate the service types available in your area. You'll find that analog service and VoIP service are the two types that are the main ones near you. Each one has different features and qualities, so it is important to compare the two before you decide which one is right for your business and for your budget.

Comparing Business VoIP Providers in Westminster, CA

Understanding VoIP Phone Service in Westminster, CA

Voice over Internet Protocol is a newer phone service type that gives users an alternative to putting in a traditional analog phone line. VoIP has been around for about ten years now but has just recently become more mainstream. Many businesses are finding that letting go of their traditional service and choosing VoIP is really helping their business communication needs. Using VoIP service gives you quality calls just like the traditional phone lines of old, but the calls are transferred through the Internet. Therefore, you must be sure that you have a strong Internet connection before choosing this type of phone service. If you are not sure if your current connection will support VoIP, use the Wirefly Internet Speed Test to check.

The biggest difference found between PSTN and VoIP is the way that calls are carried. With PSTN service, all calls are carried through an analog signal. VoIP uses the Internet and digitizes the calls you make and receive. A perk of this service is that sending your calls through the Internet is much less expensive than the traditional way, so making and receiving calls costs a whole lot less. This is a great choice for any business that deals with a lot of international calls because the rates are much lower. You'll also find packages that allow you to make unlimited calls to certain areas for one low price, eliminating the need to worry about per minute rates.

VoIP service in Westminster, CA will come with any type of calling feature that you could need for your business. These will include caller ID, multiple extensions, ring groups and call forwarding. You'll also have remote access to your voicemail, voicemail to email and fax to email service.

VoIP providers in the Westminster, CA area provide plans that are meant for small and large businesses alike. You may be a small company that needs just five lines or a large corporation who will require hundreds of extensions for your employees. Either way, there will be a VoIP service that can meet your business needs.

Business VoIP Providers in Westminster, CA

How to Choose a Business VoIP Service Provider

Since VoIP phone service has become a popular choice in Westminster, CA among business owners, more and more providers will be fighting for your business. This can make it hard to decide on which one to choose, but you can use this to your advantage.

You'll need to first think about what you need for your business. Do you need multiple lines? Are you planning to expand your company in the near future? How much is in your budget for phone service? These are just a few important questions to ask yourself. Next, compare the differences and similarities between companies. Figure out what packages you can get and for what price. Bear in mind that you should always pick a reliable and reputable VoIP provider for your business. A reliable phone system is crucial for your company and its continued success.

VoIP Providers in Westminster, CA

Traditional Phone Service for Your Business

Traditional phone service is what many of us think when we are setting up a phone line. These calls are made over public switched telephone networks, or PSTN. This service is a nationwide system set up to deliver calls over cables, telephone lines and satellites. This also includes mobile services of late. This system has been around for almost one hundred years and was the first type of phone network to ever be used.

However, older is not always better. Using a PSTN service in Westminster, CA is actually more expensive than using a VoIP service, because of how old and fragile the actual infrastructure is. It requires regular maintenance which then pushes the costs towards the customer.

Making a long distance call over the PSTN requires the data to make numerous stops along the way as it is being transmitted. The calls flow through equipment that various companies own, making the calls themselves more expensive. While some of the infrastructures that carry, switch and route the calls have become fully digital, it is the “last mile' that is still analog - the connection from the customer to the local central office.

Comparing PBX Providers in Westminster, CA

Analog Phone System and PBX in Westminster, CA

Most Westminster, CA businesses use a private branch exchange, or a PBX, that routes the calls that they get within their office. When you have a business phone service, the PBX is what allows the different calling features to happen, such as call forwarding, voicemail, conference calls and more. You also need a PBX to run multiple extensions in your office.

A traditional PSTN phone system can host the PBX either at a remote location or actually at the place of business. Unfortunately, either option can be very expensive. When you need to set up your business phone system using a PBX, you will have to invest in a lot of different types of hardware. This could run your business at least $1,000 to start. Not only that, but installation is not included in this price, as well as the configuration of the equipment and any maintenance that will need to be done later on. You will either need to have someone in your company take care of any maintenance down the road or call the company to have a service representative come and fix the issue. This could run your company at least $100 an hour or more, which can get expensive when you need to call multiple times.

If you do choose to use a traditional PBX for your business, you should be aware that you may have to upgrade or expand it in the years ahead. This is also expensive. Not only that, you may be limited on the number of lines that you can add to your phone system. If you do need to add lines to your growing company, you will be required to pay for the hardware and the installation to accommodate your business growth. A PBX is also known to breakdown, which will also cost a great deal to fix.

Business phone service providers typically charge a per-user fee that can be paid monthly or annually. Base subscriptions range from $10 to $30 per user per month. The flat price per person generally includes a business telephone number, unlimited or metered calling, and other communication features.

Some other important pricing factors you may encounter include:

  • Tiered pricing models: They provide more features on higher-priced plans.
  • Cloud-based tools: These tools generally don’t require onsite servers and, therefore, typically don’t require an installation fee.
  • Hardware: VoIP phones and headsets are optional purchases that depend on your business’s specific needs.

Add-on features: Features such as international calling packages, increased conferencing capacity, and integrations are offered by many companies. For businesses that can benefit from these services, the added cost will be worthwhile, and businesses with simpler requirements can forgo them and save on costs.

What Should I Look For in a Small Business Phone System?

Small businesses can face narrower profit margins, especially in their early years of operation, and trimming costs wherever possible can be essential to success. “Cost is a huge factor for [these companies] in their operations," explains Supradeep Dutta , a Rutgers School of Business–Camden assistant professor and an expert in technology and entrepreneurship. "VoIP is one thing to reduce the cost of communications.”

Cloud VoIP phone solutions are an excellent option for mitigating costs associated with traditional phone services. For example, VoIP means that small companies can not only skip traditional office phones but can also explore remote work options for staff that doesn’t rely on a physical office. With the help of the apps associated with these services, employees can use their own mobile phones or computers to make or receive calls, send texts, or hop onto a video conference call – all from a business number.

Aside from the cost, two of the most important factors to look at in a small business phone system are:

  • Ease-of-Use: The simpler and more intuitive the service and associated apps are, the better. Making a phone call or sending a text should be straightforward, and your VoIP service should never make you feel like you need to hire a switchboard operator just to reach the right person. Look for a service that offers features that will make your life easier. Depending on your business, this can mean generating automatic transcripts, offering custom hold music, ensuring reliable voicemail functionality, or employing spam protection.
  • Flexibility: For a small business, flexibility is key. The ability for your VoIP service to scale with your business should be clear from the start with easy-to-add lines and transparent pricing. Don’t forget to consider integrations, either. The compatibility of your VoIP service to integrate with a CMS or help desk system is something to note before committing to a provider.

Every small business is unique, and a single feature can’t address every concern. It can be helpful to make a list of the features you need or want most from a phone system, beyond cost. While it might not be at the forefront of your mind, be sure to think about the security needs of your business and if the VoIP provider you’re considering can meet them. And, don’t forget to look into the provider’s customer support.

It’s easy not to think about problems until you have one, but the last thing any business needs is to encounter a technical issue and be unable to reach the right person who can help. Some providers offer 24/7 support and others are more limited. Make sure this availability will work for your operating hours.

Compare the Best Business Phone Systems for Small Business of 2024

How do i choose the best small business phone system.

Buying a business phone service can be an overwhelming process. The choices are vast and you have much to consider, from system types and features to cost and even your customers’ expectations.

The number of providers selling these services has grown as well. “Right now there are over 500 companies selling hosted phone systems in the United States,” says Phillip Sherman, president of Telecom Advisors Group , which helps companies find phone solutions to fit their business needs. “A new one or two pops up just about every day.”

Here are some factors you should consider when making a purchase.

  • Number of users: How many employees will be using your phone system? Most providers charge a monthly fee per user, so costs can really add up with the more users you have. A provider that charges a flat monthly fee regardless of the number of users might be a better choice if you’re just looking for a basic office phone system.
  • Video conferencing: Does your company rely heavily on video conferencing with clients or other employees? If so, you’ll want to choose a provider that offers video meetings in its most affordable base plans. Those that offer it in their top-tier plans will drive up your monthly cost per user.
  • Automated features: If you expect a high volume of calls, you’ll want a provider that offers many automated call management features. These can include auto-attendant, voicemail-to-email or voicemail-to-text, and hold music. To keep your customers from waiting, you may also want to look into plans that include intelligent call routing, forwarding, flip, and transferring.
  • Remote employees: If you manage many remote employees, you may also need a service with strong team communication tools. These can include an easy-to-use mobile app, team and one-on-one messaging, file sharing, and video conferencing. Just make sure you choose a cloud-based rather than on-premise PBX system that will support these remote features.
  • Customer service: If your business relies heavily on your phone system, make sure you choose a business with round-the-clock support. The last thing you’ll want to be doing when your phone system is down is submitting a support ticket. Instead, you’ll want to speak to a real person who can help you solve your problem fast.

How Do Small Business Phone Systems Work?

Business phone systems connect your employees to one another as well as to those outside of your business, like clients or customers. This can happen through voice conversation or through other tools like text or instant messaging. While there are different types of business phone services you can utilize, the ultimate goal should be to streamline communications to help your business run more efficiently.

Types of Business Phone Systems

Business phone systems can be broken down into a few different types. Each has its own benefits, but some are better suited to the needs of a small business. Larger companies may still lean toward the traditional private business exchange (PBX) system or IP-enabled PBX, which are dedicated systems to a specific company and generally based on-premise. On the other hand, small businesses most commonly use cloud-based VoIP systems.

Benefits of Cloud-Based VoIP Systems

When it comes to cloud-based VoIP systems, there are many benefits businesses can reap:

Cost savings: A cloud-based telephone service is not a dedicated system. Instead, it's hosted in the cloud and managed by the service provider. This allows the business phone service to be provided at a lower cost on a subscription basis.

Hardware-free: These types of phone systems don’t require hardware and can instead be accessed through mobile and desktop apps.

Dynamic updates: The hardware-free infrastructure allows the business phone provider to keep the service updated at all times and provides your company with access to UCaaS features, such as messaging tools, video conferencing, and third-party integrations.

Simplified implementation: The relative simplicity of implementing a cloud-based VoIP system makes it the ideal option for most small businesses.

Saves resources: VoIP systems give your company access to all the modern-day business phone system features, without the upfront cost of having to build out a dedicated on-premise system or the required staff to maintain it.

Mobility and flexibility: These systems give your employees the flexibility needed to work from anywhere since they can access your business communications network from an app on their cell phone.

Choosing the Right Business Phone Service for Your Needs

While cloud-based business phone services have many benefits, this type of system may not meet the specific needs of your company. Consider your options and how your business interacts with a phone system to complete your work in order to make a choice that best fits the way your company is run. Think about your business’s size, budget, and the most important features that you require from your business phone service.

Why Do Small Businesses Need a Business Phone System?

All businesses, small and large, benefit from better communication. For small businesses, however, there may be more specific needs that have to be addressed in finding the right phone system, like tighter budgets. That is why researching business phone systems are so imperative for small businesses.

As a small business owner, you will want to find a system that is the best balance of price and the features you need. To learn more, read our guide on How to Buy a Business Phone .

Cloud-based business phone systems work on your existing devices, such as cell phones and computers. No additional hardware is required. Mobile and desktop apps replace traditional analog telephones, and features like virtual faxing happen in the cloud. However, computer users may want a VoIP headset for call privacy and quality reasons.

If you want to use your current analog devices, including fax machines and conference phones, with VoIP, you will need an analog telephone adaptor (ATA). In addition, many small business phone providers support IP phones, which resemble analog desk phones but connect to the internet instead of a landline.

Yes, you can install your business phone system yourself. The best business phone systems for small businesses are commonly cloud-based telephony services. These services are quick and easy to set up because they do not require hardware to be configured on-site.

Cloud-based VoIP phone systems take a do-it-yourself approach. The system is hosted off-site and managed by the business phone system provider. So you don’t need to go through a complicated process to get your phone system up and running. Simply sign up for an account and pick out your phone numbers. Download the provider’s mobile and desktop apps to gain access to the business phone system. You will still want to set up typical features like voicemail and call routing, but once the app is installed, you are all set to make business phone calls.

You may also opt for IP desktop phones. These act as a more traditional business phone option and might be a good choice for small businesses with an office where employees spend most of their time. IP desktop phones are generally easy to set up with plug-and-play options or some minor configuring.

The average small business will generally require up to 10 phone lines. However, this number can be impacted by a wide range of factors, number of employees being foremost among them. If you are the sole proprietor of your business, you may only need a single. If you are a 50-person operation that fields calls daily across multiple locations and departments, you may require significantly more lines.

Some additional factors to think about include:

  • Number of both internal and external calls that occur in your business
  • How many employees actually require a line or separate number
  • How many locations, offices, and departments will require phone services
  • What your budget can comfortably accommodate
  • What hardware or equipment will be required to support your operations

Yes, internet-based phone services support employees regardless of where they work. VoIP lets you route or forward calls to employee-owned and company-owned devices. Your teams can answer and transfer calls, even if your physical office is closed. Home users typically have access to the same features provided for in-house staff, including virtual faxing, unlimited calling, and voicemail.

Moreover, many small business phone systems offer collaboration tools, allowing remote and on-site teams to interact in real-time through video and group messaging. These features may include file sharing, whiteboards, screen sharing, and breakout rooms.

Small business phone services often have security and privacy certifications that can help protect your company when communicating with clients over the phone. Secure networks, encryption, and modern internet protocols are among the industry standards for business phone providers. Although most VoIP providers encrypt phone calls, cloud-based tools do have vulnerabilities.

The type of information shared over the phone depends on your small business's industry. While some companies in sensitive information fields need to be more cognizant of these risks, all businesses should consider the inherent risk of using an internet-based business phone system. Robust password management policies, security software, and regular software and hardware updates help keep your business phone system secure.

Companies that handle personal health information (PHI) may need additional security measures, including working with a HIPAA-compliant VoIP vendor. These certifications are generally published on the phone provider's website for your reference. Be sure to find a provider that offers the necessary credentials for the regulations in your industry.

MyRatePlan is great for comparing business phone service providers in Westminster, MD. Business owners understand the importance of being able to send and receive calls, and they need a reliable service to keep in contact with customers. Although the Internet is regularly used for communication purposes, the telephone is still the main form of communication, and businesses should have a phone service that is reliable, affordable and effective. Before choosing a suitable provider, many considerations must be made, and the provider must be carefully considered. In the modern world, there are two main options available to business owners, and these are VoIP and analog phone services. When comparing and searching for the best provider, it's useful to understand the differences between VoIP and analog phone services.

Best VoIP Providers in Westminster, MD

What is Westminster, MD Business VoIP Phone Service?

An alternative to traditional landline service, VoIP has become increasingly popular with new businesses as well as older companies that switch after realizing how VoIP can increase productivity and reduce operating costs. Although the technology is over ten years old now, it initially suffered from poor call quality due to limits in broadband technology. That issue is no longer a concern due to the widespread deployment of superior broadband networks, and adaptation of VoIP is expanding rapidly. VoIP now offers the same call quality as analog phone service while providing more features at a better price. VoIP works by sending voice calls over the internet rather than through traditional analog telephone lines, so it is important that you have a fast and reliable business internet connection available. To see if your internet connection in Westminster, MD will support VoIP service, use the MyRatePlan internet speed test.

PSTN refers to traditional landline service, where voice calls sent through analog lines are routed through switches to other telephones. VoIP works differently, by turning voice calls into packets of data and transferring them over high-speed broadband lines. Transmitting voice calls over the internet costs less since analog lines are archaic and require constant maintenance, while broadband lines are already in use to provide internet service and the network is continually expanding and improving. Since PSTN service infrastructure is more expensive to maintain than broadband, analog telephone providers must charge for services and features that are often free with a VoIP plan. VoIP customers typically spend much less on features such as long distance than PSTN users and are not charged by the minute.

VoIP service providers offer plans tailored to businesses of all sizes and provide essential features like voicemail and call waiting, as well as advanced productivity features including automated line attendants and remote access. Whether your business needs a few lines or you need several thousand, VoIP providers in Westminster, MD can meet your requirements and help to increase the efficiency and profitability of your business.

How to Pick the Right VoIP Service Provider in Westminster, MD

The increase in popularity of VoIP services among many business users has led to the emergence of many VoIP service providers. There is increased competition because of more service providers. It is unfortunate that it can take you a lot of time before deciding the best service provider for your business. However, you can use this to your advantage.

First, you have to determine the needs of your telephone service. You need to ask yourself questions like what feature you will regularly be using, how many lines will you require, do you plan to expand your business in the future, and what prices can you afford for the VoIP phone service.

After evaluating your business, you can check out the many Westminster, MD VoIP business providers and their offers. Moreover, do not forget to look at their type of services, their prices, and the overall reputation of the company from consumer reviews. You should always remember that a good working phone system is vital to the success of your business. Therefore, always settle for the service provider that has the most positive consumer reviews and the best track record of reliability.

Find and compare business phone service providers in Westminster, MD

What is Traditional Business Phone Service in Westminster, MD?

Traditionally, companies use analog phones and communicate via the public switched telephone network. This system transmits voice and fax communications throughout the country. It consists of both underground and aboveground copper wires. Satellites also play an important role by transmitting long-distance calls from one region to another. The service provides high-quality sound and continues to function in most electrical outages.

This system has remained in place for more than 100 years. It was available before any other telephone service in Westminster, MD. Businesses generally pay more to communicate via the PSTN, especially if they also need high-speed Internet access. This is primarily true because the system has a lot of infrastructure that needs to be maintained regularly. Phone companies must add this cost to the monthly bill.

While local calls remain quite inexpensive, it can be costly to contact people in other counties, states or nations. Communications may pass through multiple facilities on the way to their destinations. Different telecom networks may own various infrastructure that is involved in this process, and they need to be paid to maintain the equipment. This often results in expensive long-distance calling for Westminster, MD businesses. VoIP is recommended over traditional business phone service.

Traditional PBX

Westminster, MD Business Analog System with a PBX

For the most part, businesses in Westminster, MD use a private branch exchange to route calls received within the office. More commonly known as a PBX, this type of system allows the business phone service to function as it should with a variety of calling features such as conference calls, voicemail, call forwarding and multiple extensions.

Having a complete business phone service with a PBX requires buying various hardware that can cost over $1,000. This amount does not include the installation, configuration and ongoing maintenance that is necessary to ensure your phone service works for customer phone calls.

This is a pricey option especially when it is time to upgrade or expand the service in Westminster, MD. If you do not have an in-house technical staff, you will have to pay a professional for maintenance and to make any changes.

The last thing you should want is stifling business growth because you cannot afford to upgrade a traditional phone system to accommodate that growth. However, needing more hardware is inevitable when the time comes to add more extensions to your existing phone service.

With this in mind, take full advantage of the services of MyRatePlan to make useful comparisons of updating your business phone service. Taking the time to research service providers in Westminster, MD can help you avoid paying costly repairs for a PBX system that may very well become obsolete.

Government impersonators mail fake notices to business owners

Facebook

You’ve heard about scammers who pose as government workers, calling to demand your money or information. But imposters are running scams by mail too. They’re sending fake forms and letters from made-up agencies to small business owners and demanding payment ASAP. Here’s what to know and do if you get a letter like this.

The fake government letters have agency names that include words like United States , business regulation , and trademark to make them seem legitimate. The letters lie to you, saying it’s time to register or renew a business license or trademark, sending you to a website that asks for your license, Social Security, EIN, and credit card numbers. Usually, the letters warn about fines if you don’t respond fast.

If you get a letter that looks like it’s from the government and demands money or information, stop. It could be a scam. Before you do anything:

If you spot a scam like this, tell the FTC at  ReportFraud.ftc.gov . Find out  what to do if you paid someone you think is a scammer, or if you gave a scammer your personal information.

Did a letter 'from the government" demand money? It's a scam.

Moscow International Business Center (Moscow City)

  • Guide to Russia

What can you do at Moscow City?

  • Dine in style: Moscow City is home to 100+ cafes and restaurants, including Europe’s highest restaurant and ice-cream shop
  • See Moscow like never before: Ascend to one of Moscow City’s observation decks for an unparalleled panorama of Moscow
  • Admire world-class architecture: Each of Moscow City’s skyscrapers has distinctive architecture and design
  • Learn something new: Visit the Museum of High-Rise Architecture in Moscow or the Metro Museum

Moscow City is a multifunctional complex in the west of Moscow, which has come to represent the booming business of Russia’s capital. Its skyscrapers enrich Moscow’s skyline, contrasting the medieval cupolas and Stalinist high-rises. Visitors to Moscow City can enjoy entertainment high in the sky, as the complex is home not just to offices, but to restaurants, cinemas, viewing platforms, and museums.

History of Moscow City

Moscow City was first conceived in 1991 by honoured Soviet architect Boris Tkhor, who proposed to construct a business center in Moscow. It would be complete with gleaming skyscrapers rivalling those of New York and London, to reflect the new life and growing ambitions of post-Soviet Russia.

The chosen site was a stone quarry and disused industrial zone in western Moscow, in between the Third Ring Road and Moskva River. Initially, the territory was divided into 20 sections arranged in a horseshoe shape around a central zone. The skyscrapers would increase in height as they spiralled around the central section, with shorter structures built on the waterfront to give the taller buildings behind a view of the river.

Architect Gennady Sirota, who contributed to iconic projects such as the Olympic Sports Complex on Prospekt Mira, was selected as the chief architect, and many other world-famous architects were attracted to Moscow to realise their visions in Moscow City.

What can you see and do at Moscow City?

Where Moscow’s cityscape was once dominated by Stalin’s Seven Sisters skyscrapers , this is no more. Moscow City is home to eight of Russia’s ten tallest buildings, six of which exceed 300 metres in height. More buildings are still under construction there today, including the One Tower (which will be Europe’s second-tallest building). Once completed, Moscow City will comprise more than 20 innovative structures.

Each of Moscow City’s skyscrapers was designed by its own architect, lending the cluster of skyscrapers a unique appearance. Aside from being a site of architectural wonder, Moscow City is a place for leisure and entertainment with over 100 cafes and restaurants, exhibition spaces, cinemas, viewing platforms, and more.

Federation Tower

  • East Tower: 374m, 97 floors; West Tower: 243m, 63 floors
  • Completed in 2017
  • Architects: Sergey Tchoban and Peter Schweger

The East Federation Tower is the tallest building in Moscow, and the second-tallest building in Europe after the Lakhta Centre in St Petersburg. Visitors can enjoy a luxurious meal of seafood, truffles or steak at restaurant ‘Sixty’ on the 62nd floor of the West Tower, or visit Europe’s highest observation deck, ‘Panorama 360’, on the 89th floor of the East Tower.

Did you know? The ice cream and chocolate shop on the 360 observation deck are the highest in the world!

  • South Tower: 354m, 85 floors; North Tower: 254m, 49 floors
  • Completed in 2015
  • Architect: Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP

The South OKO Tower is the third-tallest building in Russia and Europe. Here, you can visit ‘Ruski’ to dine on hearty Russian cuisine cooked on a real Russian stove, and have a drink in the ice bar. Alternatively, visit restaurant, nightclub and performance space ‘Birds’; the restaurant is the highest in Europe, situated on the 86th floor roof terrace alongside an observation deck. The OKO Towers are also home to karaoke club ‘City Voice’.

Did you know? Underneath OKO Towers is the largest underground parking in Europe, with 16 levels and 3,400 parking spaces.

Mercury Tower

  • 339m tall, 75 floors
  • Architects : Mikhail Posokhin, Frank Williams, Gennady Sirota

Another multifunctional skyscraper, which was designed as the first truly ‘green’ building in Moscow. The Mercury Tower has a distinct geometric shape and copper-coloured glazing, and was the tallest building in Europe upon completion. Visit ‘More i myaso’ (Sea and meat) on the first floor of the tower to enjoy European and Mediterranean cuisine whilst surrounded by greenery. On the 2nd and 40th floors a modern art gallery, the ‘ILONA-K artspace’, has just opened.

City of Capitals

  • Moscow Tower: 302m, 76 floors; St Petersburg Tower: 257m, 65 floors
  • Completed in 2009
  • Architect: Bureau NBBJ

The unique geometric design of the City of Capitals towers resembles stacks of rotating blocks, and is rooted in Constructivism of the early Soviet period (many Soviet Constructivist buildings can be found in Moscow). Visitors to the Moscow Tower can enjoy a range of cuisines – traditional Italian dishes on the summer terrace of ‘Tutto Bene’, Panasian cuisine in the tropical luxury of the ‘Bamboo Bar’ on the 1st floor’, and poke or smoothie bowls at ‘Soul in the Bowl’ cafe on the 80th floor.

Tower on the Embankment

  • Tower A: 84m; Tower B:127m; Tower C: 268m, 61 floors
  • Completed in 2007
  • Architects: Vehbi Inan and Olcay Erturk

After completion, the Tower on the Embankment was the tallest building in Europe, and is now the 13th tallest. It houses the headquarters of several large Russian and international  companies, including IBM and KPMG. There are two cafes located on the 1st floor of Tower C – self-service café ‘Obed Bufet’ (Lunch Buffet) and Bakery Chain ‘Khleb Nasushchny’ (Daily Bread).

Evolution Tower

  • 255m tall, 54 floors
  • Architects: Philip Nikandrov and RMJM Scotland Ltd

Evolution is Moscow City’s most recognisable tower, and the 11th tallest building in Russia. Its façade is a true architectural marvel, comprising continuous strips of curved glazing spiralling high into  the sky. According to the architect, Philip Nikandrov, the spiral shape of the tower honours centuries of architectural design in Russia, from the onion domes of St Basil's Cathedral to Vladimir Shukhov’s Tatlin Tower, a masterpiece of Constructivist design. Outside the Evolution tower is a landscaped terrace and pedestrian zone descending to the Presnenskaya Embankment, which was also designed by Nikandrov.

Did you know? Moscow’s largest wedding palace was supposed to be built on the site of the Evolution tower, though the project was abandoned.

  • 239m tall, 60 floors
  • Completed in 2011

Imperia’s interesting design has a curved roof and an arched glass façade. Inside the tower are various cafes including ‘City Friends’ for all-day breakfasts and light lunches, ‘Mama in the City’ for simple meals of Russian cuisine, and ‘abc kitchen’ for European and Indian-inspired dishes. Alternatively, visit ‘High Bar’ on the 56th floor for cocktails with a view. In Imperia you’ll also find the Museum of High-Rise Construction in Moscow (suitably located on the 56th floor), and the Camera Immersive Theatre.

Did you know? Inside Vystavochnaya metro station is the Metro Museum , dedicated to the history of the beautiful Moscow Metro!

  • 130m tall, 26 floors
  • Completed in 2001
  • Architect: Boris Tkhor

Tower 2000 was Moscow City’s first tower. It stands on the opposite bank of the Moskva River, and houses a viewing platform from which visitors can admire an unparalleled panorama of Moscow City. The Bagration Bridge reaches across the river from the tower to Moscow City, and underneath are piers from where you can take boat trips.

Afimall is Moscow’s largest entertainment and shopping complex, home to 450 shops, cafes and restaurants, a cinema, and a virtual-reality game park. The shopping centre is located in the central section of Moscow City, and a cinema and concert hall are currently under construction there.

What’s nearby?

Sechenov Botanical Gardens: The botanical gardens of the First Moscow State Medical University was created for students’ training and research in 1946. Today it is open for free visits, and is home to a large arboretum.

Park Krasnaya Presnya: This park belonged to the Studenets estate of the Gagarin princes. It is a monument of 18th and 19th century landscaping, with Dutch ponds, ornate bridges, and tree-lined alleys. There are also sports facilities, sports equipment rental, and cafes.
