If you're looking for an online work-from-home teaching gig, Outschool may be right for you. After filling out a brief application and verifying your identity, you will need to complete a background check. Once said check clears, you will need to complete several required training sessions.

You can then create your profile and list your first class, which can be a topic you've had formal training in/on and/or anything you know a lot about. (Outschool does not require teaching credentials; they believe that experience and interest make an individual more than qualified.) As for pay, you will get 70% of the enrollment fees.

TranscribeMe!

After registering online and completing a training and exam course, TranscribeMe will set you up with audio and video files that need transcribing. The only requirements are a high school diploma and being fluent in English. You will also need a computer and internet access. TranscribeMe issues payments once a week through PayPal, and you can earn up to $22 per audio hour.

Becoming a virtual tutor through websites like Chegg can be a great way for parents to earn some extra cash flow from home. Before approval, one must fill out their online application, and provide two forms of school verification—such as a diploma, transcripts, or student ID—that prove you are currently or have been enrolled in a university.

Subject tests may be required depending on your area of expertise. Once an application is submitted, a response should follow within seven business days. All tutors are paid a flat rate of $20 an hour. PayPal processes payments automatically every Thursday morning.

While many assume a job with Amazon would be out of the house—delivery drivers, for example, are on the road most of the day and both pickers and stockers work the warehouse—the company has numerous work-from-home positions.

Customer service reps work remotely, as do data entry personnel and many members of their tech support team. Learn more about each position by visiting Amazon's remote locations jobs page . Depending on your location, qualifications, and job type, earn anywhere from around $15 per hour to over $100,000 per year.

World Wide 101

World Wide 101 is a premium subscription staffing website that provides virtual assistants to those in need. Although you have the luxury of working from home, you are still titled "a world-class business support specialist" whose main goal is to support entrepreneurs, small business owners, and executives with a wide range of assistant-like tasks. This is ideal for individuals with a background in administration, customer service, marketing, or project management.

The application process includes two video interviews, psychometric testing, reference, and background checks—accepted candidates will be contacted within 14 days. You can earn up to $20–$22 an hour (payments go directly to your bank account) and there are benefit opportunities such as parental leave and paid vacation.

Appen has gained a positive reputation for being the ideal work-from-home option for new parents. The most popular job opportunity under Appen is the Social Media Evaluator position. After your application is accepted there is a paid training process.

According to workersonboard.com , once training is completed your role is to evaluate the "impact" of random social media posts—this means examining assigned feeds and rating them. The job requires four-hour work days, five days a week.

Other Work-From-Home Job Opportunities

Interested in pursuing work in a certain field? Consider one of these work-from-home jobs.

If you're good with a needle and thread, you may be able to work from home as a seamstress. Contact area dress shops, bridal shops, department stores, and even your local dry cleaner. Many offer contract or seasonal work. Word-of-mouth is another great way to find potential clients.

Another option is to offer tutoring or after-school academic programming to kids at local schools. This is a great option for teachers but can also work for anyone with child care or teaching experience and substantial knowledge in subjects like math, coding, writing, reading, or languages. Check with teachers and school staff to find out if you can post an ad in the weekly newsletter or school website. Or spread the word through parents you know.

Medical coder

Have a background in medical billing and coding? Hospitals and medical facilities across the country need trained coders, and this work can be done remotely. All you need is a computer and access to the proper software and systems. That said, while this position can be lucrative, it does require training—either online or in-person.

Proofreader or writer

While it may not sound lucrative, freelance proofreaders and writers can make a decent living—with a little grit, hustle, and whole lot of determination. Look at company job boards and join online writing forums and groups. Network. And contact local and national publications directly. Newspapers, websites, magazines, and blogs all employ freelancers.

One of the most flexible (and obvious) ways to earn money at home with children is to babysit, especially if you are already home watching your own child. You make your own hours, set your own rate, and can pick and choose your clientele. Consider offering regular babysitting or hosting camps. A real win-win. Interested? Consider setting up a profile with companies like Sittercity or Care.com . Or put the word out in your community—you're bound to know someone looking for child care.

Customer service representative

Companies often hire remote-working customer service reps. From home, you can take phone calls or online chats from customers to help them with order inquiries, trouble-shooting technology, or support with payments.

Social media specialist

Social media specialists can work from home crafting a company's social media posts, managing interactions, and fielding messages across platforms. Companies are often looking for people with a degree in communications or related experience, plus knowledge about analytics and search engine optimization (SEO).

Transcriptionist

Transcription work involves typing up audio files to text—word for word. Interviews, presentations, podcasts, and meetings are things that commonly require transcription. This work requires fast typing skills and attention to detail.

Virtual assistant

Virtual assistants handle administrative duties, often for other virtual workers. Tasks might include organizing and handling email correspondence, scheduling, bookkeeping, making travel arrangements, and calendar management. If you have ever worked in customer service or held an administrative role in the past and enjoy support work, this may be a good fit for you.

30 Great Work From Home Jobs For Mums

Now that we’ve gone over what to look for in work at home jobs for mums, it’s time to give you some ideas of jobs that might be a good fit!

Here are 30 great work from home jobs for mums, with a little something for everyone:

Flexible SAHM Jobs Online

Woman holding her baby in her lap while working on her laptop

With the wonderful advancements in technology, there are more opportunities than ever to work from home. All you often need is a reliable computer and an internet connection, and the world opens up so many possibilities for working from home.

Remote work is becoming increasingly supported in traditional workplaces as well, so if you had a previous career that you loved, why not talk to your former employers about returning casually or part-time in an online capacity?

Here are some jobs that can be done entirely online, with little to no experience necessary:

1 – Start A Blog

I may be biased on this one, but by far there has never been a role I love more than blogging . Also known as content marketing, this work-from-home job for mums can be done entirely online and with no prior experience.

You can start a blog about literally anything you’re passionate about, from motherhood to fashion to beauty to travel – the list goes on!

The best part is that you can work from anywhere in the world and at any time that suits you. And you get to be the boss of your time!

Blogging is something I personally dabbled in for many years before I realised it could be a profitable side hustle.

And even longer before it occurred to me that this could earn me even more than my previous psychology career. SAY WHAT?!

Alongside this website, I also have a family travel blog and you can read my comprehensive guide on how to get started with travel blogging (with tips relevant to any niche)!

Blogging is great if you ever have the aspiration of becoming a digital nomad too!

To get started, you do need to make some small investments in a cheap hosting plan and a domain (that’s your blog address).

I recommend setting it up on a wordpress.org platform as it will give you more flexibility and avoid you having to switch later!

From there, there is an abundance of free resources online to teach you every aspect of blogging and while it does take some time to start earning money, you will likely get there much quicker than I did as a newbie!

You can make money through several methods as a blogger. The most common is display ads, followed by affiliate marketing, sponsored posts, and products or services.

So how much do I make from blogging? Well, that varies depending on the time of year but these days it is consistently over $4,000 AU a month and it has been as high as $12,000 AU per month!

CRAZY, right! But if blogging doesn’t sound like the right choice for you, there are a lot of other home jobs you can do online that are a lot quicker to get started!

2 – Sell Printables On Etsy

Do you have a knack for design? If so, you can create and sell printables on Etsy – one of the most well-known platforms for selling handmade goods online.

You don’t need to be an amazing artist or designer to get started. Simple designs with minimal colours are often the best sellers!

Printables are a low-cost product so you will need to sell quite a few to earn a substantial income, yet there are many people who are earning a full-time income from printables alone!

You can even create digital products like spreadsheets, editable PDFs, templates and other digital files to sell on Etsy.

Sign up to get 40 free listings on Etsy to get started.

This is another thing that I did start off with fairly early on, with both printables and custom invitations for birthday parties and special occasions. I have also sold handmade baby headbands and headband supplies in a physical product Etsy store .

These days my focus is entirely on digital files such as printables that can be delivered instantly with no work on my part once the file is created.

And I use the online Canva editing tool to do this. It is completely free to get started!

A fantastic course that covers absolutely everything, including access to some free Canva templates you can use to create your own printables is Printables By Number . I have this course and even with experience creating printables, I learnt so many valuable skills.

That’s the best part – you make a printable or file once, and resell it over and over again! Etsy takes care of the delivery and you can focus on creating new designs.

Try Suzi’s 10-day email challenge to get started so you can see if making printables is for you!

3 – Virtual Assistant

A virtual assistant is someone who provides administrative, creative or technical support to clients from a remote location.

This work from home job for mums can be done entirely online and often with existing skills you already have, with no experience necessary!

There are many different tasks that a virtual assistant can do, such as:

  • Social media marketing
  • Customer service
  • Email marketing & copy
  • Bookkeeping
  • Website maintenance
  • Booking appointments
  • Copywriting
  • SEO (search engine optimisation) for websites
  • Making graphics such as Pinterest pins or mockups
  • Image editing
  • Video editing
  • And other simple administrative tasks that help save someone a load of time!

If you have administration skills from a previous role, these will help you get started as a VA much quicker! However, there are also courses available to help you learn the essential skills to get started.

Check out The Savvy System to take you from the very basics right through to launching your VA business, booking clients, pricing, invoicing and so much more! This is a great course for anyone just getting started.

The more experience you have, the easier it will be to get started and the higher you can charge, yet the great thing about VA work is that you set your own hours that you are available and decide how many clients you want to take on.

Some virtual assistants provide just one or two specific services, such as social media scheduling or email customer service support, while others take on whatever tasks their clients need of them. You get the choice!

Not sure if it’s for you? Grab this FREE Virtual Assistant Checklist for getting started and see if it feels like the right online business for you!

4 – Become A Bookkeeper

Many small business owners find this part of managing a business daunting and prefer to outsource it. Luckily it is easy to get started as a bookkeeper, without any prior experience, by taking a short online course to learn the basics.

This is a worthwhile option to consider if you enjoy working with numbers and happen to be a bit of a budgeting boss at home already!

5 – Direct Sales / Network Marketing

Network marking has a bad reputation and there are absolutely a lot of bad choices in the industry and scams that have caused it to be that way. However, when you choose the right company, it can be a profitable experience.

Companies such as Tupperware have lasted decades and continued to grow while many others have come and gone.

I joined a direct sales company when my second daughter was a few months old. I was given a trial of the product and loved it, so I thought I’d join for the discount.

Well, that discount turned into a rather successful home business for quite a few years and it turned out to be an amazing experience!

Ranking in the top distributors in the company, there were some incredible rewards, including compensated travel and gifts. And of course, getting paid.

But let’s be real… it wasn’t a huge amount of money. Anything commission based is going to take A LOT of sales to really make you significant money! And I probably spent half my earnings on products… oops! My success was also a rare example. Most people do not grow their business to that level. It took a lot of time and work!

The great thing about network marketing is that you can work it around your family commitments as you are your own boss! You can work part-time hours or full-time job hours and decide when you work.

Of course, like any business, there is an element of risk so make sure you do your research before joining any company.

And don’t become Spammy Pammy! Nobody wants to be friends with that person…

6 – Freelance Writing

If you love writing, then a freelancing writing gig might be perfect for you!

You can work as a freelance writer to write articles, blog posts, eBooks, and even marketing materials entirely from home.

Many large websites hire several writers to create their content. Sometimes this is listed under the writer’s name, but usually, it will be in a ghostwriting capacity.

This course is a great option to help you get started as a freelance writer in just 60 days and it’s really affordable!

I have done some freelance writing for some large websites over the years. It was a fantastic way to bring in a reasonable income.

However, I prefer to focus my time on writing for my own websites these days. It can be a great experience and there is a high demand for it!

If you are a native English speaker with great written skills and the ability to research or, better still, a background in some unique or niche professions, you will definitely have the opportunity to pursue these opportunities.

7 – Become A Coach

If you have experience or expertise in a specific area, you can use this to start your own coaching or consulting business from home!

Many people are looking for guidance and will gladly pay for it if they feel you can help them.

If you have no experience, but you are a total rockstar at helping lift others up or motivate them and help them achieve their goals, a life coaching gig might be a wonderful choice for you to look into.

Another option is becoming a health coach, helping others to eat better and live healthier lives.

This is great if you are already living a healthy lifestyle, are focused on fitness and have a natural ease with supporting others.

8 – Teach English

Did you know that you can get paid to teach English online from the comfort of your own home?

There are many organisations that will pay you to teach English to students located all over the world via video conferencing.

You don’t need any formal teaching experience or qualifications, but a degree would obviously be beneficial, along with great communication skills.

This is not something I personally have experience in, but I do know someone who adores her role in teaching English to kids around the world and it is perfect for her vibrant and patient personality.

If you are competent in a second language, your language skills will definitely put you at an advantage with language teaching opportunities.

9 – Proofreading

Much like being a freelance writer, you can also specialise in freelance proofreading . This is a fantastic work at home job to seek if you have exceptional written skills and attention to detail.

As a proofreader, you will work with clients to ensure that their written work is free from errors before it is published.

This can include books, blog posts, academic articles, marketing materials and more!

You can advertise your proofreading services on your own website, on a services site such as Upwork, Fivver or check out this huge list of websites where you can apply for proofreading jobs .

This course will help you get started with freelancing as a proofreader .

10 – Video Editing

If you have skills in video editing, this work from home job could be perfect for you!

As a video editor, you will work with clients to create high-quality videos for their businesses or personal use.

This can include creating marketing videos, wedding videos, event footage and more.

To get started, you will need to have your own video editing software and a strong understanding of how to use it.

Ideally, you will want to have been editing your own videos for quite a while before you offer your services elsewhere.

11 – Design Graphics

If you have an eye for design, then you could work as a freelance graphic designer from home.

This is the type of online job you will need some experience in, but you can get started by doing an online course over a few months to take your basic skills to the next level.

As a graphic designer, you will work with clients to create high-quality visuals for their businesses or personal use.

This can include creating logos, business cards, flyers, marketing materials and more.

12 – Social Media Manager

Do you have a knack for social media? Many businesses are looking for people to help them manage their social media accounts.

This can be a great work from home job that allows you to put your love of social media into gear by making you money.

Being a social media manager can come in many forms.

In some cases, a person specialises in a single online platform, such as being an Instagram or Pinterest guru and all their services are around supporting their clients on this one social platform.

In other cases, a social media manager may be responsible for scheduling all the social content for a brand or business, across all their social media platforms. This might also require them to take on customer service tasks by responding to inbox messages as well!

Many virtual assistants offer social media management services as part of their packages, however, this can be a single area of focus too. And it can be a very profitable home business for social savvy mums!

13 – Remote Customer Service Role

In your experiences with calling insurance companies, banks and other large organisations, you might have wondered if their staff were remote workers. Well, quite often they are!

In some cases, they may be located overseas, but there are many companies that hire remote customer service representatives and insurance operators within the same country, who work remotely to support customers.

My niece recently started work as an insurance claim operator here in Australia. She needed to supply her own computer, wifi and landline for her home office and they provided extensive remote training and support. This was with no prior experience in the industry and with a very appealing income package and bonus scheme. She gets to take phone calls in her PJs or take her lunch break on the front patio! Bliss!

14 – Data Entry

Data entry is a work from home job that pretty much anyone can do. No experience or qualifications are required and the pay can be quite decent.

Of course, as with any work from home job, the more skills you have the better your chances of getting hired and earning more money as a data entry specialist.

But if you’re just starting out, work on improving your typing speed and accuracy, as this will make you much more valuable to a company that is looking for high data output.

You may be required to take an online typing test when applying for data entry positions so it can help to practice with some online first.

15 – Transcribe Audio and Video Files

If you have good listening skills and can type quickly, then you could work as a transcriber from home.

This work from home job involves transcribing video and audio files for businesses or websites.

The files could be anything from interviews, podcasts, lectures and more. And once you get the hang of it, it can be a very easy way to make some extra money from home.

There are many online courses that can help you get started with transcription work. Once you have completed a course, you will be able to start applying for jobs and working from home!

16 – Become A Travel Agent

Do you love to travel? Why not get paid to help others plan their dream vacations!

Becoming a remote travel agent is a great role for anyone who has exceptional planning skills and ideally a good knowledge of the world.

But if you want to become an online travel agent, then you will need to have some experience before you get started.

What makes this opportunity simple though is that there are many different travel agent agencies that will offer courses to get you started. Many of them will also then send referrals your way!

The best thing about being an online travel agent is that a single large booking can make you a substantial amount of money, so there is a great opportunity to earn well in this industry.

While it is commission based typically, we all know how expensive those dream vacations are!!

17 – Sell Your Photography

If you are skilled with a camera and editing software, you can sell your photos for profit.

There are so many different options for this.

You can create a portfolio on a stock image site like Shutterstock or DepositPhotos and earn money every time someone purchases one of your photos. It will require a lot of sales to make a reasonable profit, but it is an easy way to make some extra income.

You can also upload your photos to a print-on-demand service where purchasers can have them printed on items such as wall prints, mugs, cushions or calendars.

You can find heaps of different sites to sell your photos here .

18 – Create PLR Content

Something that is become very popular over the last year or two is PLR content – Private Label Rights.

This work from home job involves creating content that can be used by others.

It could be anything from pre-written blog posts and articles to eBooks, recipes, craft tutorials and printables.

The great thing about this work from home job is that you can sell the same piece of content multiple times and make a profit each time!

This is a perfect option for you if you love the idea of creating content for a website or blog, but don’t have the passion to grow a site. Instead, you can dabble in the creative content process and benefit from quick sales of content for others.

There are loads of Facebook groups dedicated to PLR sellers and buyers.

19 – Sell Planner Stickers

Another really popular option for online businesses is to create your own planner stickers. Just like creating printables, you can create digital planner stickers that customers can print at home, making it an entirely online business.

Or you can print the planner stickers you create on your home printer. This is especially a great option if you have a cutting machine such as a Cricut or a Silhouette so you can set them up to cut the stickers for you.

This FREE MASTERCLASS is a great introduction to creating your own planner stickers.

Or check out this planner sticker course which will teach you all the design basics, how to print and cut stickers at home, and even includes some templates to get you started quickly!

I have a Cricut Joy machine & a Silhouette Cameo. I prefer the Cricut for being user-friendly! Plus there are a lot of other make-and-sell ideas you can do with these machines!

20. Laser Engraving Business

Custom gifts are always best sellers on marketplaces such as Etsy with personalised gifts being the perfect sentimental gift idea for any occasion.

Having your own laser engraving machine, such as the desktop hybrid xTool machines or a Gloforge that cuts vinyl and do laser engraving can be a great way to get started without the huge commercial-size machine costs.

I have an xTool M1 and while this is perhaps more of an entry-level machine, it can be a great starting point for a home business.

Offline Jobs For Stay At Home Mums

Woman kissing son on forehead as they sit at kitchen bench

Not so keen to start an online job to earn you money as a stay at home mum? That’s okay because there are plenty of great options that make you money without needing the fancy tech skills too!

Check out these jobs for mums at home:

21 – Sell Items For Profit

One of the most popular quick ways to earn money from home is to sell items for profit.

Unless you are a minimalist, you might be shocked (or horrified) at just how much unwanted clutter you have sitting in your home that could quite potentially be making you money !

If you need cash quickly, a whole-house declutter is a great way to get started with selling items.

You can do this on sites like eBay or Facebook marketplace (this option is free), or you could hold a garage sale!

Once you’ve flipped all the unwanted items out of your own home, you can turn this into an ongoing business by finding cheap second-hand goods from garage sales, ops shops or online marketplaces and selling them for higher profits.

The key to making good money from selling items is to be able to source them cheaply enough that you can still make a healthy profit after all the work of listing and selling them is done.

If you enjoy a bit of DIY, restoring old furniture with a fresh makeover can really increase the resale value!

22 – Start A Handmade Business

If you are crafty and have a passion for handmade creations, you can start a handmade business making products such as cards, hair accessories, jewellery or other small handicraft items.

There are loads of ways to sell your handmade goodies – online marketplaces like Etsy or Shopify, at local flea markets or via a Facebook page.

You might even be able to get your handmade products into a local boutique store that sells a variety of similar products! Can’t hurt to ask!

23 – Offer An Ironing Service

If you live in a suburb with lots of young families, chances are there are plenty of busy mums who would love to outsource their ironing!

You could start an ironing service from home, picking up and dropping off the clothes once they’re pressed.

This is a great option for stay at home mums because you can work around your kids’ school and nap times.

To get started, put up some flyers in your local area or advertise on local Facebook groups to find local clients.

You can also offer a complete laundry service – wash, dry, iron and fold.

Make sure you don’t take this work at home job on if you despise doing your own family’s ironing! You will hate it…

24 – Petsitting

Love animals? Petsitting might be a great choice for you to earn extra income!

Petsitting involves looking after someone’s pet while they’re away on holiday or for other reasons.

This can be anything from feeding the pets and walking them, to staying overnight at the client’s house to keep an eye on things.

It might even involve a few other housesitting duties as well, such as collecting the mail and putting the bins out.

You can start your own pet sitting service without any prior experience, although if offering services to strangers, it would be beneficial to have police background checks done first to help build trust with potential clients.

Once you’ve had a few pet sitting jobs, with any luck word will start to get around with them telling friends and family who are looking for a pet sitter in future.

In some areas, you can register with a pet sitting agency that will help connect you with local clients. Otherwise, set up a Facebook page and share in local community groups, or create some flyers to pin on noticeboards and drop in letterboxes.

25 – Dog Walking

If you love dogs and are reasonably fit, dog walking could be the perfect job for you! It can also be an extension of a pet sitting business if you wanted to combine the two and have the time to fit both in.

Dog walking involves going to the client’s house to pick up their pet and then taking them for a walk before returning them home again.

This service is a great time saver for busy working families who might not have the time to walk their dog themselves but want to make sure their beloved pet is getting daily exercise.

26 – House Cleaning

If you’re a neat freak who loves nothing more than a good tidy up, starting your own house cleaning business could be a great way to share these skills of yours!

You can create a flexible schedule and choose to only work while the kids are at school or daycare, or when your partner is home with the children.

You will need to invest in some essential cleaning supplies and tools. Make sure to keep a record of these purchases for tax purposes!

27 – In-Person Tutoring

If you’re a whiz at a particular school subject or language, you could start offering in-person tutoring to local students who need help with their studies.

You can work with primary school students right through to university students, depending on your skills and qualifications.

There are also online tutoring services that offer training programs before setting you up as an online tutor on their platform.

28 – Host Classes in Creative Skills

Share your creative talents with others by hosting classes from home or at a local venue in things like painting, life drawing, resin art, cooking, cake decorating, jewellery making, or macrame and photography.

You can advertise your classes online or through local community groups. You might need to invest in some supplies and equipment to get started, but once you have everything you need it’s just a matter of getting the word out there.

Often creative classes are priced to cover the cost of materials as well as your teaching support.

29 – Photographer

Woman with a camera learning photography

If you are a natural with a camera, you can take those photography skills even further and start photographing for profit.

I have two friends who have turned their love of photography into very successful home businesses and one is a stay at home mum who works during school hours with her home studio sessions or on Sunday afternoons for her lifestyle location shoots. And even then, it’s only when she wants to work!

To become a professional photographer, you need to have a quality camera (although it doesn’t have to be top of the line) and know how to use it. There are plenty of in-person and online photography courses to help you level up your skills.

Great editing software is also essential for a photography business.

Creative Live has loads of free and low-cost photography courses online , targeting different skills and types of photography. Their online learning platform is great for learning other skills too!

30 – Meal Prep Service

There are a lot of fresh meal delivery boxes available these days with services such as HelloFresh and Marley Spoon.

There are even plenty that offer ready-made meals too, but they sure can get expensive and you don’t know who is making your food!

Busy local families are the perfect clients for a meal prep service. A meal prep business involves cooking meals in advance and portioning them out into individual servings or family meals that are ready to eat.

This can be anything from a healthy lunchbox service to family-style dinners ready to reheat after a long day at work or school.

You could even specialize in dietary requirements such as gluten-free, Paleo, or Keto meal prep.

Make sure you research the required food licensing and insurances needed for this type of business. You can find out more about starting a food prep business here .

Bonus Ways To Earn Money As A Stay At Home Mum

Want more ways to save money and make a little extra cash? These bonus ideas can really add up over time and help with the family finances.

31 – Online Survey Sites

Online survey sites pay you to answer market research surveys online. They can take anywhere from 30 seconds to an hour, and pay according to the length and effort required.

You won’t make a lot of money but it can add up to a bit of extra if you have the time (and nothing better to do with it… like a fun hobby !).

Check out Survey Junkie . This is one I have tried in the past although I have not used it recently.

32 – Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is a great way to make money from home by promoting other people’s products and services.

This is the one bonus money-making idea that can actually make you significant income if you have the right platforms and presence online.

You can sign up to be an affiliate for almost any company these days, from big brands like Amazon to travel booking sites, clothing stores, skincare… everything you can think of.

In fact, affiliate marking is one of the big income streams for most bloggers.

As an affiliate, you earn a commission on every sale you generate through your unique affiliate link.

There are a few things to be aware of with affiliate marketing, such as disclosure requirements if you are promoting products on your blog or social media platforms. But it is generally a very easy way to make some extra money from home.

If you have a large social media following, many ‘influencers’ are making significant income on Instagram, Tiktok, Facebook and Pinterest by promoting products they love.

Get started by signing up with an affiliate program marketplace, such as ShareASale , where you will find hundreds of affiliate programs in one place.

33 – Cashback Apps

Cashback apps aren’t an income-generating opportunity, but it is a fantastic way to save money on your household expenses.

There are a few different cashback apps available around the world and they mostly work the same way. If you purchase through one of the cashback partner sites via the browser or app, you get a percentage of your purchase back.

It can take a few weeks to a few months for the funds to clear, however, this is money that comes back into your bank account rather than going into the items you purchased.

You can get money back on your everyday purchases from grocery shopping to petrol, online shopping, and even travel expenses.

It’s completely free money just for doing your normal spending!

Rakuten is a popular option in the USA. Here in Australia, my favourites are Shopback and Cashrewards . Many airline rewards programs also offer a points bonus for spending through their partners as an alternative option.

  • Set up a work schedule – While flexibility is key when you’re a work at home mum, having something of a schedule will help you stay on track with the things you need to do.
  • Create a tidy workspace – Avoid working in a messy area as clutter reduces our productivity and increases stress!
  • Set up a dedicated work area – Even better, have your own workspace, whether it be a home office or a small desk in the corner of your dining area that is dedicated to your work time.
  • Invest wisely – If you do need to make purchases to get started, such as courses, equipment or tools, do this with caution as you don’t want to spend on anything that won’t get used!

My Experience With Working From Home

As a young adult, I was very career-focused and couldn’t imagine there being a point where I would want to do anything other than the traditional career path.

I was working as a correctional psychologist and loved my career, assuring my boss I would definitely be back after maternity leave.

And I was. 6 months later I returned to work part-time and I hated it!

We were lucky that hubby was on the afternoon shift at the time so he was home with our 6-month-old while I worked. It just got harder and harder to leave her though so I started contemplating career changes.

Teaching maybe? Contract psych work? I started in both those areas, back to uni and working a day a week as a psychologist in schools.

Throughout this time I had always blogged. Mostly as a craft blogger and certainly never as a money-making hobby . Until I learned this was a possibility. So I started this website and soon after also started a family travel website too.

By the time I found out I was pregnant again I was blogging, had started a handmade baby headband business and was selling kids’ clothing via Facebook.

I also had my first experience with direct sales around the time my second daughter was 5 months old. This was an incredible experience but not anywhere as profitable as I would have liked.

When that company started struggling, I switched my energy back to my long-neglected websites and gave them everything I had. It took a couple of years to go from side hustle of earning just a few hundred dollars a month to now making an income comparable to my psychologist career. Knowing what I did now, it would not have taken nearly as long though!

Here are some more ways to save money at home:

  • Meal planning for beginners
  • Life admin tasks to organise your life
  • How decluttering can save you money

There are a number of different work from home jobs for mums to suit all interests and skill sets. Some of these options are great for bringing extra income into your household short term, while others are more sustainable and profitable and can easily become a full-time business from home! There’s no reason you can’t enjoy financial security as a stay at home mum!

Hopefully one of these stay at home mum jobs is perfect for you!

Blogging started as a side hustle for me, and now it’s my full time job.

When I was wondering what jobs I can do from home, blogging was one thing that kept coming up. As I’m based in the UK, I wondered if this would limit my audience, but of course the internet has billions of users so your potential reach is unlimited!

In less than two years, I started making £2,000 per month blogging just doing it part time, around a full time office job. Within a few months of quitting to become a full time blogger , I was able to double that!

I love blogging because it’s the ultimate flexible job. Bloggers have no clients, no deadlines, and nobody to tell you what to do.

You can write about whatever topic inspires you.

You can work on your blog at any time of day or night, for as much or little time as you have available.

This makes it perfect for busy mums!

There are even lots of blog tasks you can do on your phone when you’re on the go – you don’t have to be tied to the computer.

You can start a blog for as little as £2.95 per month on Siteground (my top recommended web hosting company).

If you enjoy writing, blogging is one way to make money with your skill. But it takes time to build up an audience for your blog, and it can be several months before you start to see the money come in.

This article has a very detailed action plan for becoming a freelance writer, including advice on how to find jobs. And here’s a list of places to look for writing jobs online.

It helps to have a niche as a freelance writer. This can help you establish yourself as an expert in your field.

If you had a profession before taking maternity leave or deciding to stay at home with your children, this would be an obvious niche to start with. You already have the knowledge and credentials.

Otherwise, your niche can be anything you’re interested in and familiar with! Here’s a list of over 200 writing niches to inspire you.

Amazon seller

Selling on Amazon is a perfect home business for work from home mums.

Amazon gets millions of visitors each day. Why not tap into that customer base?

The easiest way to sell on Amazon is the Fulfilled By Amazon model (FBA). You simply find products to sell (either online or in physical stores) and send them in to an Amazon warehouse. Amazon then handle the storage, packing and shipping.

Jessica from The Selling Family has been selling on Amazon since 2009. She and her husband both now do FBA full time so they can stay at home with their son.

Jessica has a free 7 day training course to help you sell your first product on FBA. In this free email course, you’ll learn:

  • Why leveraging FBA is essential for Amazon sellers
  • Which niche you should sell in
  • Picking items to buy
  • How to price your items
  • How many items should you buy

Virtual Assistant

Virtual Assistant (VA for short) is an awesome work-from-home job for anyone interested in online business .

A VA is someone who offers online services to support bloggers, entrepreneurs or small businesses. Some of the many different services offered by VAs include:

  • Social media management
  • Creating Pinterest graphics or other images
  • Moderating Facebook groups
  • Replying to emails
  • Writing and/or editing blog posts
  • Curating recipes, crafts etc for roundup posts
  • and pretty much anything else!

The great thing about being a VA is that you could choose to offer all of these services, or focus on one service that best suits your skills.

Personally, as a Pinterest addict, I’m super interested in the idea of becoming a Pinterest VA .

This is a virtual assistant who specialises in Pinterest – creating pin graphics, scheduling their clients’ content in Tailwind, researching group boards etc.

If this is a route you want to go down, there is an awesome course called Become a Pinterest VA TODAY!  which teaches all the practical skills needed to be a Pinterest VA, plus things like how to find and pitch clients, and how to set your prices.

According to the course tutors, it’s common to set a recurring monthly fee for Pinterest management packages of anywhere from $250 upwards per client. So this can be a pretty well paying work at home job, and fun to boot!

You can pick up as many or as few clients as you have time for, making it a perfect flexible job for parents. Many VAs manage to make £1000 a month or more within their first few weeks.

Imagine the difference that could make to your family budget!

Transcriptionist

A transcriptionist turns audio recordings into text. If you have a good ear and type fast, this could be a great side hustle or even full time career for you.

Transcriptionists transcribe for many different clients, including academics, writers and podcasters. You could also develop a specialism such as legal or medical transcription, if you have the necessary experience in the field.

There is no shortage of transcriptionist jobs listed on freelancer sites, and there are also specialist agencies you can apply to – here’s a list of good places to find transcription work.

Like proofreading, this is one of the best ways to work from home for mums who are good at English and want a flexible, freelance career.

Many agencies do not require any experience or qualifications. However, if you want to get a head start in this industry it’s a good idea to take a specialized training course.

work from home jobs for mums - a woman working from home at a laptop holding a baby

Are you are a stay at home or work from home mum who’s usually at home while other people are in the office? You have the ideal situation to provide dog boarding or doggy day care!

Dog sitters look after other people’s dogs while they’re out at work or on holiday. If you like animals and you have a pet-friendly household (check with your landlord if necessary!), this could be the perfect home job for you.

Rover is one popular site to find doggy related jobs online, including dog boarding, doggy day care, dog walking, house sitting and drop ins. There are jobs for cat lovers, too!

Rover also provide ongoing pet care education, and they have a great support team. They even provide vet assistance, just in case anything goes wrong.

You can also ask around for work locally, or advertise in local shops, Facebook groups or online community groups.

It should be noted that you need a licence to look after animals in your own home in many jurisdictions. In the UK, this is issued through your local council.

The cost and requirements vary by area, so check your local council’s website for more info.

Your kids will probably enjoy helping you out with this site hustle. Just make sure the dogs you choose to work with are OK with children too!

Pinterest affiliate marketer

Did you know you can get paid to pin on Pinterest?

Yes, it’s one of these things that sounds too good to be true… but I know it works, because I worked this side hustle for several months and made a decent supplementary income.

I don’t really do this any more because I focus on blogging instead now, but here’s how my earnings looked when I was regularly pinning affiliate pins last year:

Payments from Shopstyle Collective - just one of the affiliate networks I promote on Pinterest

Affiliate marketing .

This is when you recommend products that you use or love, and you get paid a commission when anyone buys through your special tracking link.

Lots of people use Pinterest for shopping and finding great new products. You can pin your favourite products with affiliate links to help others, and earn money.

Affiliate marketing on Pinterest is a perfect home business idea for busy mums because like blogging, it is 100% flexible.

You can do as much or little as you like. You can even do it from your phone when you’re out and about, or nursing a little one.

It’s a great way to get started making money online if you want to test out affiliate marketing without starting a blog.

The course is suitable for complete Pinterest beginners – although you can make money faster with an established account! Plus, it’s simple enough for you to implement in an afternoon.

You’re unlikely to make a full time income just from affiliate links on Pinterest, but it’s perfectly possible to make an extra couple of hundred pounds a month.

It also combines really well with working as a blogger or Pinterest VA!

Mystery shopper

Mystery shopping is a fun and flexible side hustle.

As well as earning some extra cash, you can also score loads of freebies including meals out, free supermarket products and even children’s clothes!

Mystery shopping usually involves visiting a shop or restaurant, asking a few questions (you will be told what to say ahead of time) and making a purchase like a normal customer. Afterwards, you fill in a survey about your experience online and upload a picture of any receipts.

a mystery shopper in a store wearing sunglasses

You will usually be reimbursed for anything you were told to buy, plus you get a small fee for your time.

It’s difficult to make a full time income from mystery shopping, but it can be a fantastic way to make a little extra income each month and enjoy the odd meal out for free.

It’s an ideal side job for stay at home parents because you can fit it around your grocery shopping or other tasks and you can take your children with you to the shop. The aim is to look like a normal customer, after all.

And yes, you can even work from home as a mystery shopper. There are also lots of mystery shopping jobs that are online or by phone! Red WigWam is good for these.

Here are a few of the best mystery shopping companies in the UK (if you’re elsewhere, look for local companies):

  • Red WigWam  (good for online mystery shops)
  • Market Force
  • HGEM (specialises in mystery dining)
  • Lionbridge (currently recruiting for online mystery shoppers)
  • ESA Retail (often has phone jobs)

You can also try tasking apps such as Roamler , BeMyEye and Field Agent for similar tasks.

Matched better

If you’re looking for an interesting work from home opportunity in the UK, you could do worse than look at matched betting .

Don’t be put off by the name – it’s not gambling.

You don’t even need to know anything about sports!

Matched betting works by using the free bets that bookies give out all the time. You use online software to place two opposite bets with different online bookmakers. The opposite (‘matched’) bets then cancel out any losses, and you pocket the free bet.

It sounds complicated, but it’s easy to get your head round if you watch a few videos! I use the matched betting service Outplayed.com (previously Profit Accumulator) which has videos to walk you through every step so you can’t go wrong.

This is the one of the best jobs for stay at home mums in the UK because it’s so flexible, and the potential earnings are very high compared to time required once you’ve learned the basics.

As a beginner matched better, I was easily earning a couple of hundred pounds a month in a few hours a week. My personal best was about £600 in one month. I have heard of experienced matched betters making a lot more.

Also, did I mention it’s tax free ?!

Even though it’s not gambling, matched betting profits are not considered ‘trading income’ by HMRC ( source ), so they are not taxable.

So, unlike most of the other online jobs on this list, you don’t have to register as self employed or declare your earnings.

If you’re looking for stay at home jobs UK parents can try, this is easily one of the most profitable options out there.

Home work for mums: choosing the best option for you

There are loads of different offline and online jobs for mums out there. I’ve tried to include a selection of different home working options that will appeal to different people.

Not every job on this list will work for everyone. When choosing the best online job or side hustle for you, you need to consider a few different things:

  • Do you want to earn a full time income from home, or just a little extra every month?
  • Do you need to start earning straight away? (If so, I recommend matched betting – you can see profits literally the same day.) Or can you invest some time upfront into building up a sustainable online business (such as blogging ) ?
  • Can you commit to the regular weekly hours needed to be an online English tutor (best for mums with childcare a few hours a week) ? Or do you need a 100% flexible job (most of the other jobs on this list can be done at any time of day or night!)

You can also consider a portfolio career , where you combine two or more different work from home jobs or side hustles.

This takes a lot of organisation, but it allows you to follow your various interests and skills, and it is useful to balance out the busy/quiet periods that happen in many jobs. For example, you could focus on matched betting during the football season, pick up some extra freelance work when matched betting is quieter, while working on your blog for long term passive income.

I hope this list will help you find ways to make money from home while still be there for your family!

Remote work: The ultimate ally

10 best work-from-home jobs for moms, the downsides of working from home, how to job hunt as a mom, when’s the best time to return to work after becoming a mom, don't hesitate to ask for help.

It doesn't matter whether you're a first-time mom, a mom with more than one child, or if you have a partner at home. Balancing family and work is difficult.

You’re probably at a stage in life where you're trying to support your family but still thinking about your professional career. A flexible job that allows you to work from home might be your best friend.

Finding the best work-from-home jobs for moms isn't as easy as you think — but there are some great ones out there if you know where to look.

Jobs for stay-at-home moms still have some downsides, so we're here to explain all the important aspects of remote work and why remote work is a great option for moms in the first place.

Achieving a balance between professional and personal lives as a mom is challenging. You want to be present when you’re at work and home with your family. But sometimes, work pulls you away from your home responsibilities, and vice versa.

Since remote work schedules are more flexible, they eliminate commutes and allow you to spend more quality time with your family. Whether it’s a full-time job or just a side hustle for extra income, you can adjust your workload as needed.

Apart from moms, a lot of people want to work from home . One survey found that 70% of workers want to work remotely or have a hybrid model after the pandemic is over . With remote work or hybrid models gaining popularity among workers, it’s great news for moms looking for job opportunities.

More companies will consider remote or part-time options, and moms can take advantage of them.

If your job before was in-person and you want to switch to remote working, BetterUp can help you make that transition. We can help you overcome the challenges of adjusting to a new way of working and managing your valuable time.

You can find full-time work, side gigs to earn extra money, or part-time jobs for moms at home. The point is that you decide what your work-from-home job will be.

To paint a better picture of what a work-from-home job could look like, we've compiled a list of 10 jobs you can do remotely, and an estimated salary for each of them:

1. Proofreader

Estimated salary: $43,940

Freelance writing also allows you to take breaks from assignments when you need more time to focus on your family.

4. Small business owner

Estimated salary: N/A

Are you crafty? Do you have clothes you want to sell? Your small business doesn't have to have physical walls. You won’t have to set up a vendor at a flea market when you have sites like eBay and Etsy to sell your products on. If you’re looking at your own start-up, the demands on your time will be immense. The salary for this role varies, depending on how much time you invest.

5. Data entry clerk

Estimated salary: $35,940

7. Social media specialist

8. Web designer

Estimated salary: $52,788

Being a web designer is your chance to flex your graphic design skills. You’d be the one to create a stellar website for people, brands, or local businesses. Web designers can easily also work on a freelance basis if part-time or full-time is too much.

9. Customer service representative

Estimated salary: $39,070

10. Transcriptionist

Estimated salary: $43,969

Transcription software isn’t always accurate. That's why a person like yourself can transcribe away in your home. People need transcriptions for interviews, reports, and fact-checking, so you’d work in various industries.

Busy-young-female-transcriptionist-in-earphones-best-work-from-home-jobs-for-moms

It's the positive aspects of work-from-home jobs that we hear about most often. But that doesn't mean there aren't any downsides or challenges to remote work .

Working from home makes it tempting to do nothing but work sometimes. It's something that easily consumes us, which leads to burnout . We need to have a healthy work-life balance for our family's sake, and so we must establish limits on how much we work or our work hours throughout the day.

Another downside of doing work-from-home is our internet connection. One study done in 2020 found that an estimated 42.8 million Americans didn't have stable broadband to work productively from home without internet problems . If we have poor internet connection, we aren't able to log onto the programs our online job demands.

And while the pandemic has opened up more opportunities for moms to take advantage of remote work, it doesn't mean it's smooth sailing for everyone. The Pew Research Center has found several ways the pandemic challenged working moms, including while doing remote work.

One of their surveys found that 54% of working moms struggled to balance their work and parenting responsibilities . Plus, out of the moms in opposite-sex relationships, 74% said they took care of their children more than their partner, which cut into their ability to work productively.

And if all single mom jobs from home were fully remote, they wouldn’t have a partner to help them with at-home responsibilities. Daycare and childcare can be expensive, so finding a job that let’s you work when you can — like during nap time or after dinner — will increase your work-from-home opportunities.

Even if you're motivated to find a remote job, it's still helpful to learn some tips for the job search. Like any other job hunt, it sometimes makes you feel lost.

Happy-young-woman-student-or-employee-excited-by-reading-good-news-best-work-from-home-jobs-for-moms

Here are eight tips to help you on your job search:

  • Begin with some shadow work to decide what work is best for you and fits your needs
  • Network within the industry to learn tips or hear advice from other professionals
  • Find companies you admire and keep an eye on their hiring pages
  • Look on remote work specific job sites for postings
  • Take a few online courses to sharpen your skills and refresh yourself
  • Practice your interviewing skills with your partner or friends
  • Create a website that shows off your skills and portfolio
  • Widen your search to companies far away if the work is all remote

The best time to return to work as a new mom is a tough question. The short answer is that there’s no exact time you should go back to work after becoming a mother, as it depends on your situation. Your preferences and lifestyle might differ from another mom's, so there's no sense in comparing yourself to others.

The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists say that 73% of women return to work within six months of becoming mothers . But some of these moms return because they run out of paid medical leave and risk losing their jobs or need the income to alleviate financial stress .

Just because others are doing it doesn't mean you have to rush yourself. If you have the means, take all the time you need. And listen to your mind and body. If you aren't ready now, you deserve a break. If you rush yourself, you could burn yourself out and harm your well-being.

Some of the best work-from-home jobs for moms could replace your previous career. While the law prohibits employers from discriminating against you based on your pregnancy and recent motherhood, prolonged maternity leave might lead to a potential loss of income. Finding a more flexible role might be just what you need.

Take it easy

As you think about when you want to return to work, remember to have patience and self-compassion . If you're looking for a new job as a mom, don't forget to slow down and give yourself a break. Stay-at-home mom careers take resilience, as they’re likely new to you.

You're trying to adjust to a new stage of life after some big changes. Remember to be kind to yourself because things may not go exactly to plan right away.

If you're checking out new remote jobs, brush up on some tips for working at home . Some tips will work for you, but some won't. That’s OK — everyone’s different.

The best work-from-home jobs for moms vary from parent to parent. What might be the ideal job for one mom could be the opposite for someone else. That's why we need to take this journey at our own pace.

Going back to work after maternity leave is difficult. It's tough to balance our family and our professional career, so asking for help is something we need to become comfortable doing. We could ask our managers , coworkers, or friends for help as we adjust to working again. But for our mental health, seeking help from a professional  benefits our well-being in ways that our friends cannot.

Whenever our time comes that we rejoin the workforce, whether it's part-time, full-time, or on a freelance basis, we must make sure that we're ready to do so.

Find someone who will help you navigate this new stage of your life. At BetterUp , our coaches can provide the guidance you need to understand when you're ready to return to work and what kind of work you want to do.

home working jobs for mums

There’s no doubt about it – being a stay at home mom is simultaneously one of the most demanding and rewarding jobs there is. While it certainly comes with a lot of perks, one thing it doesn’t come with is a paycheck. Not earning a paycheck makes it difficult for moms who want to stay home with their kids but have no idea how to make that work financially. Flexible jobs for moms are hard to come by, especially ones for moms with small kids at home.

This is a guest post by Bridget Sielicki. Take it away, Bridget!

The idea of a flexible job for a busy mom might seem like a pie-in-the-sky dream, but many moms have created just that for themselves. Thanks to the internet, many moms work from home with convenient hours, and they’re making good money without shuffling the kids to daycare or suffering a long commute.

The idea of a flexible job for a busy mom might seem like a pie-in-the-sky dream, but many moms have created just that for themselves.

While remote work has seen a significant rise in all job sectors, not every work from home job is suitable for moms. After all, if you have young kids, chances are you won’t be available for a conference call in the middle of the day or be able to set aside time to speak to a client at a particular hour. If you have young children and no alternative childcare, there’s no telling what your day will look like.

flexible jobs for moms with kids

Luckily, there are still plenty of options if you want to work from home . While not every work-from-home job is practical when you have small kids underfoot, there are some things you can do to bring in some much-needed cash while you’re caring for your children. Consider one of these flexible jobs for moms to supplement your income while your kids are young.

1. Work as a Freelance Writer

Working as a  freelance writer  is genuinely one of the most flexible work at home jobs there is. It’s how I’ve been making money from home for the past ten years, even while homeschooling my four young children.

There are a wide variety of content needs that you could fulfill as a freelance writer. Blog posts, long-form articles, company newsletters, product descriptions, and eBooks are just a few examples of the many different kinds of content you could offer. Fiverr is a great place to find freelance writing jobs that are perfect for stay at home moms.

The best thing about working as a freelance writer is that you can work whenever you have free time . Since most client or customer interaction is done over email, you don’t have to worry about being available during certain hours of the day. Generally, you’ll just be given a content deadline, which means you can work on a schedule that’s convenient for you.

2. Become an Editor or Proofreader

Just as writers are needed to fulfill content needs, editors and proofreaders are required to give that content a proper once-over before it goes to print. If you have an eagle-eye and a good grasp of grammar, this might be the perfect job for you.

The scope of your work depends on how involved you want to be. An editor will be responsible for a lot of critiquing and rearranging content to make sure that the final product makes sense and flows beautifully.

In contrast, a proofreader will serve as the last eyes on a piece , looking it over to make sure there are no typos. Both these jobs are incredibly flexible and can be done whenever you have free time.

3. Become a Virtual Assistant

A virtual assistant provides a wide variety of tasks , from answering emails to delivering customer service to managing a company’s social media pages. One of the best things about this flexible work at home job is that you get to decide what it is you want to offer. You can then package those services and offer them to businesses or entrepreneurs who are often more than happy to outsource these kinds of tasks.

If you’re a mom with kids at home, you’ll want to be mindful of the services you’re offering. Tasks that involve being on-hand at certain times or providing a timely response to customer service problems might not work if you have other responsibilities at home. As a virtual assistant, you’ll simply want to make sure you only take on duties you know you can handle .

Those who love Pinterest might consider learning how to become a Pinterest Virtual Assistant and work from home. Some Pinterest VAs make over $1,000 a month.

4. Work as a Transcriptionist

A transcriptionist listens to audio files and then turns them into written documents . Generally, you’d work for a transcription company for this kind of work, which means you could wait and pick up projects when you’re available to do them.

While this probably isn’t the kind of job you’ll be able to do while your kids are awake easily and under your care, you could easily do tasks when they’re napping, or you have help at home.

If you’re skilled as a transcriptionist (or train for this position), you’ll find there are plenty of  remote transcription jobs  available. With a marked rise in YouTube videos and podcasts, there are a lot of entrepreneurs and business owners who want these kinds of audio files transferred into written transcripts. While the work is flexible, it’s also very consistent .

5. Do Data Entry Jobs

If you love sitting and typing and don’t mind work that others might consider a little boring, you could earn doing data entry jobs. While the type of data entry you’ll do varies from one company to the next, it generally involves compiling information into a concise, readable format for these companies to use.

To find one of these jobs, your best bet is to scour job search sites like Indeed.com or Monster.com. Look for job titles like “data entry keyer” or “data entry clerk.”

flexible jobs for moms data entry

There are lots of legitimate data entry jobs out there, but there are also plenty of scams in this job field. Before you sign on with anyone, do a little research to make sure it’s a valid company. Also, never pay any money to start working with a data entry company, as that’s a sure sign it’s a scam.

6. Deliver Groceries

Finding a flexible job doesn’t mean you need to be tied to your computer. If you love getting out and about and don’t mind shopping, why not deliver groceries for others?

Grocery shopping is one of those necessary things that just has to get done week in and week out, but many people hate to do it (myself included). If you love it, you’d be providing a beneficial service to many people. Grocery shopping is a job you can do with your kids in tow, and it’s also a great way to meet a lot of different people.

✅Check out a service like Instacart to deliver groceries for money!

7. Perform Odd Jobs and Errands

You don’t need to limit yourself to delivering groceries. Another great way to interact with people and get out of the house is to perform odd jobs and errands on TaskRabbit .

On the TaskRabbit app, you’ll find a variety of jobs, like cleaning, home repairs, or even planting flowers. Simply browse the app and apply for a job if you think it’s a good fit for your talents and schedule.

8. Work as a Tutor

Do you have teaching experience? Are you looking for something rewarding ? Consider making some extra cash working as a tutor. The great thing about tutoring is that you can do it either in-person or online, giving you the flexibility to choose what works best for your family.

There are many different kinds of tutoring positions available, from teaching English online to school children in Asia to helping local high schoolers prepare for the SATs.

Some online tutoring companies require you to commit to a set number of hours each week, while others allow you to log in and pick up shifts whenever you’re available. The wide variety of tutoring positions available makes it one of the most flexible jobs for moms out there. VIPKid is a great service where moms can make extra money working as an online tutor from home.

If you need something part-time, one way to earn extra cash is to work as an online test scorer. The specifics of this position depends on what company you get a job with, but in most cases, you’ll provide scoring for standardized tests or the written portion of the ACT or SAT.

To get this kind of job, you almost always need to have at least a Bachelor’s degree. The pay is hourly, and the work is seasonal – don’t expect many summer assignments – but it’s very flexible, as you can work when you’re able. 10. Become an Online Stylist

You don’t need to give up your love of fashion now that you’re a mom. If you’ve always had a knack for putting together great-looking outfits, you can use that skill and make money as an online stylist. When you work as a virtual stylist, you get all the fun parts of the job, like putting together the latest fashion trends without the hassle you might otherwise experience in a retail environment.

With the rise in popularity of subscription clothing boxes, there’s a greater need than ever for online stylists. To find one of these jobs, look at companies like Allume or StichFix , or simply browse virtual stylist positions on major job boards.

11. Offer Pet Sitting or Dog Walking Services

Do you love pets? Make money pet sitting from home. Pet sitting is an excellent flexible job for moms because it’s so easy to do while you are home with your kids. It doesn’t require you to wait until they’re in bed, and you won’t need to get up at the crack of dawn to work before they’re awake.

If you don’t want to commit to a full pet sitting business , you could also offer your services as a dog walker. Many people hate leaving their fur babies at home all day while they’re at work. As a stay at home mom, you could put the kids in the stroller and give neighborhood dogs a bit of exercise. Some sunshine and a stretch of the legs are good for the dogs but it’s also good for you too!

12. Work as a Photographer

Photography is a flexible job for moms that you could easily use to make money if you have a knack with a camera. Offer packages that cater to the types of photos you want to offer, like weddings or family portraits, and then start advertising in your local area.

If you don’t have a strong portfolio yet, photograph friends and family or offer discount services so you can build up a strong client base and help spread the word.

If you’re passionate about something and you like to write, share that passion with the world in the form of a blog.

home working jobs for mums

If you need the extra income, I suggest starting a blog as a side project while you’re also doing one of these other flexible jobs. That way, you’ll have money coming in a while your blog grows. Proofreader

If you have great attention to detail then being a proofreader is for you.

You can pick up gigs on sites like:

People Per Hour

They aren’t paid great to start with, but once you have a few under your belt and you start to have a small portfolio you can then raise your prices.

You can also look for jobs on Facebay groups.

Child-minder

Registering as a childminder is a great work from home entry job that anyone can do. You can look after your own kids while looking after others, all from your own home.

The downside is that there is a lot of admin and after hours work needed, but it does mean that you can work for yourself and pick your own days and hours.

Ok, so not at home all the time, but you can take the kids with you and earn anything from £6-£10 an hour.

You can start by registering your self as a dog walking company at Nards.

This is a great way to work from home as a mum around the kids and still make money.

You can advertise via Facebook and by just telling your family and spreading the word.

Tutoring is a great work from home job for mums who want to supplement their income part time.

You don’t need to be in the same room as your student’s ether. Using technology like Skype, you can connect to people all around the world.

Wages are good as a tutor, but you do need to stand out. Think about what you can offer as a tutor and what students could be seeking.

You should think about what specialist area you can tutor, for example if you are interested in fitness and regularly attend the gym you can study to  become a personal trainer  and then you can either offer personal training services online or begin tutoring for a personal training course company.

Data Entry Jobs

These jobs involve anything that means inputting data, so look for roles like Customer Service Agent, Data Administrator, and Data Processor.

Home Travel Agent

Pretty much what it says on the tin. You would work from home setting up appointments, arranging travel, doing anything a high street agent would do but at home.

Social Media Manager

We all know that social media is creating more work-from-home opportunities than ever.

This role can be done on a freelance level or as a employee. Many businesses still can’t get to grips with all the different platforms and this is where you can fill in the gaps.

To get work, it’s best to start pitching. Have a look at the companies you would love to work for. What should they be doing that they aren’t? What could you do better?

Marketing Manager

Again, this can be quite open but you could look for jobs that involve pay-per-click advertising or brand development. All calls can be done over Skype and the role is so big, that there is scope to go any way you like.

Stock Trader

If you have the head for numbers, then trading stocks at home is for you.

Your job would be to buy and sell financial products like stocks and shares in order to get the best rewards for your clients, whether they’re individual people or huge corporations.

Experience in a similar financial capacity works if you need to enter at entry-level.

You can also start trading with just a small amount of your money, to show people what you can do.

Product Testing

Honest reviews are more important than ever.

Companies will send you free products to test and review and in some cases cash for your time. A good site to look at is Buzzoole.

  • Mortgage Broker
  • Estate Agent
  • Content Creater
  • Online Customer Service Agent
  • Market Researcher
  • Call Centre Agent
  • Web Developer
  • Virtual Receptionist

Unless you have contacts, you are going to have to start from scratch. Like above, sign up to the content mills like People Per Hour* and Fiverr* and as your friends so they can keep an eye out.

Having all your social media set up and running can really help show you are serious and a website could show off your skills or host a portfolio.

Work from home business

If going back to the world of employment fills you with dread then why not start your own business. It’s not as scary as it sounds and can start bringing you in a small bit of money in till you have the time to build it up.

Don’t be scared to start. If you have a skill then use it, whatever it may be. You may not even think you have a skill but if you know social media inside out or use eBay all the time then there is a skill!

It’s true you’re going to have a few outlays to start with but unlike a bricks business to start online actually costs very little.

Here are my top 5 tips on what I did when I started this website and my Virtual Assistant business:

  • Find a need and fill it.

Where’s the gap in the market or could you do something better?

  • Build a website.

We use WordPress because it’s the easiest platform to use and gives you total freedom. There are so many YouTube videos on how to start out if you are unsure but just pick and theme and get playing with it.

You’ll also need a:

A domain name: This is your www. name that people will search for. Try and think of a name that matches your business or that you think your customers will be searching for. Have a look on social media and Google to check that no one else has it. You can check and purchase domains easily using a site like TSO, who we buy ALL our domains from.

Web hosting: These are the people that will host your website on their server. You want a company you can trust. We’ve used many over the years but TSO Host are a good place to start when you need your online store hosting*. You get 10% with TSO Host by using our code S4SM10%OFF.

3. Use search engines to drive traffic to your site.

Make sure your copy sales and coverts. If you son’t think you have that skill then use a place like People Per Hour* or Fiverr*. Think of it this way. Each task is going to either cost you in time or money. Which one would you rather give up for this task?

  • Establish yourself as an expert.

Whatever you’re doing make sure you’re the go to person. Hang around in Facebook groups or on Twitter and answer people’s questions on your niche.

Write blog posts for sites that are in your industry so your name gets out. Know what you’re talking about!

  • Have an email campaign provider.

This is a great way to keep your customers involved with what’s going on and to let them know of any new services or products you are selling. Set it up early even if you don’t plan to email anyone. We use Mailerlite as they have great customer service and easy to build email templates*. (Remember to check the ISO website for GDPR guidelines.)

Then depending on which business below you decide to do will come with a few more costs.

Virtual Assistant

A virtual assistant is someone who works from home, who can perform all the nitty-gritty admin jobs that a client needs remotely.

Dropshipping

Drop shipping is a great way of earning money on eBay or Amazon without having your own products. You sell other peoples products but for a mark-up so you make a profit.

A great example of this on the high street are stores like Argos and John Lewis who sell other brands.

To get started in dropshipping and to be successful, you’ll need:

  • A tracking program that tells eBay when the product is in stock or out of stock. We use Hustle Got Real that pulls our listings if they suddenly go out of stock . They track major UK brands so you don’t have to. Hustle Got Real takes away all the pain of droppshipping and pretty much manages the listings themselves .
  • An eBay or Amazon Store. We started on eBay just as a private seller. It currently costs 36p to insert a listing so make sure you work out when it’s cheaper to switch to a store.
  • Time. Again this isn’t a get rich quick scheme but is a great way to make money as a passive income. You need to be on your eBay or Amazon store every day even if you only list one product. They reward you for being active!

The internet needs writers and you could be paid to be one of them. Anything goes from game scriptwriters to e-book writers to academic writing.

There’s companies out there that will help you find work as well, but do take a commission on what you earn.

These are sites like:

You can also find work on local Facebay or Gumtree sites, and while they might not be the best paid, it means you can build up a portfolio for yourself to show other clients.

There’s a lot of affiliate programs out there, so whatever you’re interested in, you’ll be able to find a scheme for it. It does take a while to build but affiliate marketing is a great passive income earner meaning you only have to set it up once and you’ll keep receiving income.

If you’re just looking for a bit of extra money that you can do on the go, then this list is for you.

There’s so many apps that can help you make money while you’re on your phone. Here’s a full list of money making apps that can help you make some money on the side.

Make Cash From Your Driveway

This applies to anything to do with your home really.

From loft or garage space to parking to rooms to even renting your home out as a film set.

Storemates is the best place to look at if you like the storage route, just remember to ask what’s in the boxes, as it may invalidate your own insurance. Oh, also remember you may have to pay tax, so remember to declare it on a self-assessment.

Just Park is a good site if you fancy letting out your drive. If you live near a train station, hospital or a city center, then you’re sure to earn a bob or two a month.

If you like the sound of your home being used in a film or on TV (plus, the major bragging rights, right?) then look into Lavish Locations  and Shoot Factory. You don’t need to have a manor house to apply, look at the Dursleys house in Harry Potter.

Online Surveys

A handy little earner that you can do on your laptop while watching TV. You won’t necessarily make bundles of cash, but for just 20 minutes or so work, you could make a few pounds.

These are the one’s I’ve used before but there are plenty floating about that payout in either vouchers or cold hard cash:

Valued Opinions*

Instagc*

Cashback Sites

Weirdly, not many of us use cashback sites, which is strange, as you can earn money back from just buying your normal day to day items. From grocery shopping to insurance to household bills!

Search for what you need and buy it through a cashback site and you’ll get back a percentage of what you spend. I currently use OhMyDosh, but there are loads out there just as good. Sign up here for free to get £1 added to your account now*

Don’t leave your money sat there. As soon as you hit the threshold, cash it out. You never know what’s around the corner…

Get Paid to Google

Nope, this isn’t a joke!

You can earn hard cash by searching the web with Qmee. Just download the add-on, which sits on your internet browser, and search like you would normally.

Qmee shows you extra results or adverts. All the extras you see have been paid for by companies who want extra eyeballs on their links, and Qmee gives you a cut for that.

It’s not loads, but at 7-15p a click, some being up to £1, for doing what you’d normally do anyway, it’s certainly worth a go!

Flog Your Old Stuff Online

When it comes to the internet, your old junk really is someone else’s gold.

Starting off on eBay is probably the easiest bet, and being protected by their guidelines and Paypal gives you the guarantee you really will see your money. This guide here by MSE is the best I’ve found so far.

Facebook is another fab place. There are hundreds of local Facebay and Babybay selling groups out there, all divided up by local area and object you are selling.

Facebook has also made it easier with its marketplace tool. It lets you discover, buy and sell items in your community and anyone or everyone near you or looking for that item will see.

Now let’s talk about traders

There are loads of these companies around. You know the ones, that shout about swapping your old stuff for a cheque in the post.

While these sites are easy to use and give you an instant quote for all your knick-knacks, they’re aren’t exactly fast to payout.

Remember to compare them all, never pay postage unless you HAVE to and make sure your items are packed well, so there is no excuse for them not to pay out.

The best ones to look out for are WeBuyBooks, who do, weirdly, take everything and CeX, who takes everything but books.

Price-wise, you’re looking at getting up to £1 for CDs, £1.50 for DVDs and £10 for some computer games, but this does vary.

Always shop around, and dip your head in and out of the high street chains too, as you never know when they might offer a better deal.

You shouldn’t notice any difference and the link will never negatively impact the product. The items we write about are NEVER dictated by these links. We aim to look at all products on the market. Welcome to ‘Supersex’: Why Porn Icon Rocco Siffredi Brought His True Story and More Than 40 ‘Boundary-Pushing’ Sex Scenes to Netflix

Porn icon Rocco Siffredi claims that after making roughly 1,400 hardcore films — with titles like “The Ass Collector” and “Rocco’s Perfect Slaves” — over the past four decades, he has finally found “the peace of his senses.”

“I could crack a bad joke and say I can’t get it up anymore,” says Siffredi, 59, speaking on a video call from the Budapest office of his Rocco Siffredi Production company, which houses the Siffredi Hard Academy, touted as the world’s first “university of porn.”

“I have to tell you that it was a mix of problems connected with my personal life and the dependency that this job, for better or worse, sets forth in you when you’re on set 28 days every month doing two or three scenes a day,” Siffredi says. “I don’t know if it was dependency or just desire. But I swear, it’s over.”

That said, he’s still happy to shoot other actors and create porn. “But I don’t feel the need to do it myself.”

“ Supersex ,” the Netflix series inspired by Siffredi’s life that drops globally on March 6 after premiering at the Berlin Film Festival in February, begins with Rocco announcing, “Porn for me is over. I’m retiring,” at a 2004 Paris porn industry convention. That really happened. But in a fictional twist written by the show’s creator, Francesca Manieri, Rocco, played by Italian star Alessandro Borghi, then proceeds to have rough sex in front of a throng of cheering journalists and fans, having been enticed by one of the convention’s hostesses, an aspiring porn performer who is seeking her big break.

Manieri, who is a militant feminist, says that when she was approached by producer Lorenzo Mieli about doing a Rocco Siffredi origins show on the set of Luca Guadagnino’s gay coming-of-age TV series “We Are Who We Are” — which she co-wrote — she thought Mieli was joking. He asked her to give it some serious thought.

Everyone told her it was “too risky,” but Manieri came on board because she saw it as a unique opportunity.

“I said to myself that if when women are given the chance to delve into the heart of masculinity — with all its dysfunctionality and potential toxicity, or even its power —we turn it down, then we can’t blame anyone anymore,” she says.

“That evening was like my high school and college graduation crammed into one,” says Siffredi — who is named after Alain Delon’s gangster character Roch Siffredi in the 1970 French film “Borsalino.” “When I saw Gabriel in that club, I knew that in front of me I had the opportunity that I had been seeking ever since I was a kid. The emotion I felt is indescribable.”

“Supersex” traces Siffredi’s journey from Ortona to Paris, Rome and then Los Angeles, where he started working with U.S. porn pioneer John Leslie and producer John Stagliano. It delves into Rocco’s close relationships with his mom and older brother Tommaso (Adriano Giannini) and with Tommaso’s partner Lucia, played by Jasmine Trinca, a Berlin juror. Lucia becomes a prostitute and is a “mirror for Rocco.” “They are both sex workers,” Manieri says. “But the social judgment cast upon them is completely different.” Lucia eventually manages to find redemption, though not entirely, “because our society does not allow that strong a twist.” But her character provides a “bridge between the feminine and masculine [realms].”

In terms of genre, Manieri calls “Supersex” a hybrid between a melodrama and a coming-of-age story. As references she cites Luchino Visconti’s neo-realist classic “Rocco and His Brothers” and Sergio Leone’s epic “Once Upon a Time in America,” classics that feature respectively a feminicide and a rape, she points out. These films depict “the dynamics of how a masculine psyche is built,” she says. Similarly, the series deconstructs “the boundaries of that type of toxic masculinity.”

Both Siffredi and Manieri say there is a lot more of Rocco’s real journey in “Supersex” than a show “just inspired by my life,” as Siffredi puts it. “Stories are built on conflict,” says Manieri. “Rocco and I in a room were the biggest conflict you could possibly imagine, so it was a great start.”

For Borghi — known to U.S. art-house audiences for playing Bruno, the Alpine native who has a meltdown in male-bonding drama “The Eight Mountains” — “Francesca’s screenplay is probably the reason I chose to make this series.” What interested him about the story of an 8-year-old kid from a dirt-poor family in Ortona who becomes the world’s biggest porn star is that it’s “so filled with emotional changes that have to do with dependency and pain and things connected with his family — this whole dark side,” he says.

“If they had written a series about a porn actor just to show how good he was at fucking, surely I would not have accepted,” he adds.

Borghi says he has roughly 40 or 50 “boundary-pushing” sex scenes in the show, some more intense than others. But what’s crucial for him is “that every scene that has to do with sex, with porn, always involves a new narrative twist for the character,” he points out. “It’s never because at that point in the narrative you needed to throw in some sex for the audience.” Instead, the steamy scenes “can be Rocco’s consecration, his happiness, or the way he faces pain.”

To play these scenes with several actresses— including Gaia Messerklinger, who plays Italian porn star Moana Pozzi, and Jade Pedri and Linda Caridi as women with whom Rocco becomes romantically involved — directors Matteo Rovere, Francesco Carrozzini and Francesca Mazzoleni had an intimacy coordinator on set in Rome, Sicily and Paris.

“We did lots of different things,” says Borghi, who describes the mood instilled on set by intimacy coordinator Luisa Lazzaro.

“It was funny because the first couple of weeks we were all a little uneasy,” he says, “and then the third week we just stood there naked looking at scenes on the monitor. So something must have worked.”

There is little doubt that of the many women in Rocco Siffredi’s life, the most important one is his mom, Carmela.

“My whole journey [into the porn world] starts with that woman and her suffering, my desire to suffer the way she did,” he says wistfully. “It was always very important for me to find redemption in order to help my mother, even financially.”

“She’s the biggest luck of my life,” he continues. “A mom who doesn’t judge you for your choice, doesn’t try to oppose it or create problems.” On the contrary: “It’s not that she pushed me. But she had that protective attitude that says: ‘Rocco, if it makes you happy, go for it!’”

Going for it took Siffredi from Ortona to Los Angeles in 1990. It was very tough, he recalls, due to his Italian accent and “because Americans are used to selling, not to buying,” as he puts it.

“Rocco, this guy from Italy. I’m the first European to disembark in America and I changed porn,” Siffredi boasts, referring to his signature brand of rough on-screen sex, not to mention his supersized cock, which has won him 150 porn industry prizes.

So is there a moral to “Supersex”? Can it help teenagers grasp the distinction between porn and real sex? “This series can help Rocco fans understand better who Rocco is — his life, where he comes from,” says Siffredi.

But it should also help viewers understand what it takes to become a porn star. “Guys arrive at my academy and they think they are going to find 10 women with their legs spread open, ready to do what they want,” Siffredi points out. But it’s not like that.

According to Siffredi, “Porn is a very tough job; it’s a vocation. I always say to the guys, ‘If you want to do this because you are unemployed and you need to make money, it’s not going to work. Because working with sex is the worse thing you can do in your life.’”

Volodymyr Zelenskiy at a press conference in Odesa.

Zelenskiy calls for operational changes to Ukraine military after sacking commander

President demands ‘new level of medical support for soldiers’ as questions mount over speed of counteroffensive against Russia

Volodymyr Zelenskiy has demanded rapid changes in the operations of Ukraine’s military and announced the dismissal of the commander of its medical forces.

The Ukrainian president’s move was announced on Sunday as he met defence minister, Rustem Umerov, and coincided with debate over the conduct of the 20-month-old war against Russia , with questions over how quickly a counteroffensive in the east and south is proceeding.

“In today’s meeting with defence minister Umerov, priorities were set,” Zelenskiy said in his nightly video address. “There is little time left to wait for results. Quick action is needed for forthcoming changes.”

Zelenskiy said he had replaced Maj Gen Tetiana Ostashchenko as commander of the medical forces.

“The task is clear, as has been repeatedly stressed in society, particularly among combat medics, we need a fundamentally new level of medical support for our soldiers,” he said.

This, he said, included a range of issues – better tourniquets, digitalisation and better communication.

Umerov acknowledged the change on the Telegram messaging app and set as top priorities digitalisation, “tactical medicine” and rotation of service personnel.

Ukraine’s military reports on what it describes as advances in recapturing occupied areas in the east and south and last week acknowledged that troops had taken control of areas on the eastern bank of the Dnipro River in southern Kherson region.

Ukrainian commander in chief, Gen Valery Zaluzhny, in an essay published this month, said the war was entering a new stage of attrition and Ukraine needed more sophisticated technology to counter the Russian military.

While repeatedly saying advances will take time, Zelenskiy has denied the war is headed into a stalemate and has called on Kyiv’s western partners, mainly the United States, to maintain levels of military support.

Ostashchenko was replaced by Maj Gen Anatoliy Kazmirchuk, head of a military clinic in Kyiv.

Her dismissal came a week after a Ukrainian news outlet suggested her removal, as well as that of others, was imminent after consultations with paramedics and other officials responsible for providing support to the military.

Meanwhile on Sunday, air defence units in Moscow intercepted a drone targeting the city, mayor Sergei Sobyanin said.

Sobyanin, writing on the Telegram messaging app, said units in the Elektrostal district in the capital’s east had intercepted the drone.

According to preliminary information, falling debris resulting from the operation had caused no casualties or damage, Sobyanin said.
