How to Make your Assignment Design Look More Professional

Introduction
One of the most important aspects of an assignment, apart from the content of the assignment, is the aspect of assignment design. Assignment design is becoming more and more important as online school is becoming more dominant and the need for visually appealing digital assignments is increasing. Well-designed assignments can make sure that your work will leave a very good impression on your teachers, stands out from the rest of the class, and reflects how much work you and/or the group have invested in this project.
Good assignment design comes with a lot of benefits. It helps you display a clear-cut message in an interesting way, grab and retain the attention of the people who see that piece of work, and add a layer of detail and professionalism to the work.
Learning such design skills while still in school can be beneficial later on in life as well. In the working world, knowing how to identify professional designs that can have a deep impact on your audience and get a point across clearly can give a real advantage, especially when creating presentations and reports, and working with customers.
Tips to Make Your Designs Professional
Here are some ideas to help make your assignment design ideas pop and give them a professional look.
Make Use of Design Elements
Design elements are shapes, lines, or any other pieces that help make something look appealing. These shapes can help accentuate certain elements of your design that can make them stand out. Design elements can also have a more profound function - guide the eyes of the viewer. Putting design elements in the right place can make the viewer look at what you are trying to show them. For example, it is psychological fact that the first place a person will look when looking at a design will be the top left portion because that is generally where people look automatically when reading. So, if you put some information there or if you add a design element like an arrow there towards something that you feel requires attention, like an important statistic, graph or image, you can effectively drive the attention of the viewer.
Use Elegant Fonts
Fonts are an integral part of assignment design when it is an online assignment. Using the right kind of font can leave the teacher with a good impression because not only will it make it look professional, it will also make it eligible and readable to the viewer, making it more attractive to the teacher evaluating it. The best fonts for this would be Times New Roman and Arial.
Do Not Overdecorate
A lot of students get into the habit of overdecorating their designs with too many design elements. Too much of anything is bad, and the last thing you want is for your assignment to look crowded. Crowded designs are not attractive at all, especially when it comes to a professional setting like an assignment. Make the design as minimalistic as possible so that the teacher can focus on the content and not on the loud design.
Use Bullet Points Wherever Possible
This is one of the most essential points to keep in mind in assignment design - use bullet points whenever you are trying to make a point. Bullet points are especially important in assignment design because it makes reading and interpreting the core content of the assignment that much easier. Bullet points also make the assignment look neater and more systematic because everything is so organized.
Font Colour and Size
This is something that is so overlooked and yet has such a deep impact on the viewer. Always use black text on an assignment. In fact, try to use as little colour as you possibly can because, in a professional setting, less is more. Use colour only when emphasizing something that is so important that you cannot help but point it out.
Another aspect of it is size. Size does matter in fonts and in design, especially in assignments. Preferably keep the headings H1 size, subheadings H2, and further subheadings under them at H3, H4, etc. This creates a visual hierarchy that makes it easier for the teacher to follow the assignment and grade it accordingly.
Pay Attention to Punctuation
Punctuation marks are typographical conventions that can greatly affect your assignment’s effectiveness. Make sure that the punctuations are right at all places and make sure to review once you are done because the proper use of punctuation marks can help the teacher understand the content better and make it easier for the teacher. The basic idea behind it is simple - if you make it easier for the teacher, it will reflect better on you.
These are simple yet effective ways to make your assignment look as professional as possible. The idea behind this is to make the design language simple and minimalistic while at the same time, aesthetically pleasing.

- 8 Tips to Make Assignments Look Professionally Aesthetic

- By myaproadm
A good design is critical for your assignments. As it can mean the difference between getting good marks and getting an excellent grade. Well-designed assignments can ensure that your work impresses your professors, stands out from the rest of the class, and shows the amount of effort you (or your group) put into this project. You’ll be astonished to know that good design holds the same importance for various assignment help service providers like My Assignments Pro when you search for My Assignment Help .
8 Tips to make your assignment aesthetically beautiful:
1. Adhere to the rules
Before submitting the tasks, students are always told to follow the university guidelines or the teacher’s suggestions. So, when preparing your projects for submission, make sure that you follow the requirements outlined in the policy; otherwise, this oversight could cost you a lot of money during inspections.
2. Less is more
Overly presented tasks are clunky, but they also give the impression that the assignment was prepared solely for writing. Though it is good to have thought let me include as much material as possible in my assignment to help me score better, but it is only regarded as perfect when the information is acceptable and relevant to the context.
3. Straightforward appearance
When it comes to designing assignments, don’t fall into the trap of over-decorating. Everything would appear a little cheesy and overly displayed, and the words themselves would be meaningless if they were not arranged properly. So, please keep it presentable and straightforward because simplicity is the key to getting good marks.
4. Select the appropriate typeface
The fonts you use for your assignment should be simple and easy to read. Teachers love them since they are formal in context and easy to understand while reading.
5. Make font colour and size readable
The wrong font size for your content might sometimes defeat the purpose of delivering it to the teacher. When writing, please don’t make it look too big or too little; instead, stick to the ones that come before the structural ethics. There’s no need to spruce up your typeface with flashy colours, as this could detract from the idea of doing a professional task.
6. Complete the alignment process
Remember that alignment is critical for your assignment because there is no purpose in achieving well in academics if the content is not presented in a logical order. As a result, you must guarantee that every sentence and paragraph in your assignment is aligned correctly.
7. Pay attention to punctuation
If the correct punctuation is not correctly inserted at the appropriate location, the entire meaning of the sentence may be altered, and you will be unable to communicate the right message to your audience through the content. So, to convey the correct meaning of your article, make sure you use punctuation in the appropriate places.
8. An excellent conclusion to each paragraph
There’s no use in guaranteeing a fantastic rhythm or sequence to your content if the last sentence of each paragraph doesn’t have an appropriate ending. If you don’t end your sections with the correct meaning, you might not be able to connect the two paragraphs, let alone the entire context.
Conclusion: These pointers by My Assignments Pro should have convinced you of the necessity of assignment design and styling. If you’re having trouble making your assignment look aesthetically professional, these pointers will undoubtedly come in handy otherwise My Assignments Pro is 24*7 available online to help you. So, go ahead and make a search for My Assignment Help.

Designing Assignments for Learning
The rapid shift to remote teaching and learning meant that many instructors reimagined their assessment practices. Whether adapting existing assignments or creatively designing new opportunities for their students to learn, instructors focused on helping students make meaning and demonstrate their learning outside of the traditional, face-to-face classroom setting. This resource distills the elements of assignment design that are important to carry forward as we continue to seek better ways of assessing learning and build on our innovative assignment designs.

Connect with the ctl.
- Resources and References

Traditional assessments tend to reveal whether students can recognize, recall, or replicate what was learned out of context, and tend to focus on students providing correct responses (Wiggins, 1990). In contrast, authentic assignments, which are course assessments, engage students in higher order thinking, as they grapple with real or simulated challenges that help them prepare for their professional lives, and draw on the course knowledge learned and the skills acquired to create justifiable answers, performances or products (Wiggins, 1990). An authentic assessment provides opportunities for students to practice, consult resources, learn from feedback, and refine their performances and products accordingly (Wiggins 1990, 1998, 2014).
Authentic assignments ask students to “do” the subject with an audience in mind and apply their learning in a new situation. Examples of authentic assignments include asking students to:
- Write for a real audience (e.g., a memo, a policy brief, letter to the editor, a grant proposal, reports, building a website) and/or publication;
- Solve problem sets that have real world application;
- Design projects that address a real world problem;
- Engage in a community-partnered research project;
- Create an exhibit, performance, or conference presentation ;
- Compile and reflect on their work through a portfolio/e-portfolio.
Noteworthy elements of authentic designs are that instructors scaffold the assignment, and play an active role in preparing students for the tasks assigned, while students are intentionally asked to reflect on the process and product of their work thus building their metacognitive skills (Herrington and Oliver, 2000; Ashford-Rowe, Herrington and Brown, 2013; Frey, Schmitt, and Allen, 2012).
It’s worth noting here that authentic assessments can initially be time consuming to design, implement, and grade. They are critiqued for being challenging to use across course contexts and for grading reliability issues (Maclellan, 2004). Despite these challenges, authentic assessments are recognized as beneficial to student learning (Svinicki, 2004) as they are learner-centered (Weimer, 2013), promote academic integrity (McLaughlin, L. and Ricevuto, 2021; Sotiriadou et al., 2019; Schroeder, 2021) and motivate students to learn (Ambrose et al., 2010). The Columbia Center for Teaching and Learning is always available to consult with faculty who are considering authentic assessment designs and to discuss challenges and affordances.
Examples from the Columbia University Classroom
Columbia instructors have experimented with alternative ways of assessing student learning from oral exams to technology-enhanced assignments. Below are a few examples of authentic assignments in various teaching contexts across Columbia University.
- E-portfolios: Statia Cook shares her experiences with an ePorfolio assignment in her co-taught Frontiers of Science course (a submission to the Voices of Hybrid and Online Teaching and Learning initiative); CUIMC use of ePortfolios ;
- Case studies: Columbia instructors have engaged their students in authentic ways through case studies drawing on the Case Consortium at Columbia University. Read and watch a faculty spotlight to learn how Professor Mary Ann Price uses the case method to place pre-med students in real-life scenarios;
- Simulations: students at CUIMC engage in simulations to develop their professional skills in The Mary & Michael Jaharis Simulation Center in the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons and the Helene Fuld Health Trust Simulation Center in the Columbia School of Nursing;

Tips for Designing Assignments for Learning
While designing an effective authentic assignment may seem like a daunting task, the following tips can be used as a starting point. See the Resources section for frameworks and tools that may be useful in this effort.
Align the assignment with your course learning objectives
Identify the kind of thinking that is important in your course, the knowledge students will apply, and the skills they will practice using through the assignment. What kind of thinking will students be asked to do for the assignment? What will students learn by completing this assignment? How will the assignment help students achieve the desired course learning outcomes? For more information on course learning objectives, see the CTL’s Course Design Essentials self-paced course and watch the video on Articulating Learning Objectives .
Identify an authentic meaning-making task
For meaning-making to occur, students need to understand the relevance of the assignment to the course and beyond (Ambrose et al., 2010). To Bean (2011) a “meaning-making” or “meaning-constructing” task has two dimensions: 1) it presents students with an authentic disciplinary problem or asks students to formulate their own problems, both of which engage them in active critical thinking, and 2) the problem is placed in “a context that gives students a role or purpose, a targeted audience, and a genre.” (Bean, 2011: 97-98).
An authentic task gives students a realistic challenge to grapple with, a role to take on that allows them to “rehearse for the complex ambiguities” of life, provides resources and supports to draw on, and requires students to justify their work and the process they used to inform their solution (Wiggins, 1990). Note that if students find an assignment interesting or relevant, they will see value in completing it.
Consider the kind of activities in the real world that use the knowledge and skills that are the focus of your course. How is this knowledge and these skills applied to answer real-world questions to solve real-world problems? (Herrington et al., 2010: 22). What do professionals or academics in your discipline do on a regular basis? What does it mean to think like a biologist, statistician, historian, social scientist? How might your assignment ask students to draw on current events, issues, or problems that relate to the course and are of interest to them? How might your assignment tap into student motivation and engage them in the kinds of thinking they can apply to better understand the world around them? (Ambrose et al., 2010).
Determine the evaluation criteria and create a rubric
To ensure equitable and consistent grading of assignments across students, make transparent the criteria you will use to evaluate student work. The criteria should focus on the knowledge and skills that are central to the assignment. Build on the criteria identified, create a rubric that makes explicit the expectations of deliverables and share this rubric with your students so they can use it as they work on the assignment. For more information on rubrics, see the CTL’s resource Incorporating Rubrics into Your Grading and Feedback Practices , and explore the Association of American Colleges & Universities VALUE Rubrics (Valid Assessment of Learning in Undergraduate Education).
Build in metacognition
Ask students to reflect on what and how they learned from the assignment. Help students uncover personal relevance of the assignment, find intrinsic value in their work, and deepen their motivation by asking them to reflect on their process and their assignment deliverable. Sample prompts might include: what did you learn from this assignment? How might you draw on the knowledge and skills you used on this assignment in the future? See Ambrose et al., 2010 for more strategies that support motivation and the CTL’s resource on Metacognition ).
Provide students with opportunities to practice
Design your assignment to be a learning experience and prepare students for success on the assignment. If students can reasonably expect to be successful on an assignment when they put in the required effort ,with the support and guidance of the instructor, they are more likely to engage in the behaviors necessary for learning (Ambrose et al., 2010). Ensure student success by actively teaching the knowledge and skills of the course (e.g., how to problem solve, how to write for a particular audience), modeling the desired thinking, and creating learning activities that build up to a graded assignment. Provide opportunities for students to practice using the knowledge and skills they will need for the assignment, whether through low-stakes in-class activities or homework activities that include opportunities to receive and incorporate formative feedback. For more information on providing feedback, see the CTL resource Feedback for Learning .
Communicate about the assignment
Share the purpose, task, audience, expectations, and criteria for the assignment. Students may have expectations about assessments and how they will be graded that is informed by their prior experiences completing high-stakes assessments, so be transparent. Tell your students why you are asking them to do this assignment, what skills they will be using, how it aligns with the course learning outcomes, and why it is relevant to their learning and their professional lives (i.e., how practitioners / professionals use the knowledge and skills in your course in real world contexts and for what purposes). Finally, verify that students understand what they need to do to complete the assignment. This can be done by asking students to respond to poll questions about different parts of the assignment, a “scavenger hunt” of the assignment instructions–giving students questions to answer about the assignment and having them work in small groups to answer the questions, or by having students share back what they think is expected of them.
Plan to iterate and to keep the focus on learning
Draw on multiple sources of data to help make decisions about what changes are needed to the assignment, the assignment instructions, and/or rubric to ensure that it contributes to student learning. Explore assignment performance data. As Deandra Little reminds us: “a really good assignment, which is a really good assessment, also teaches you something or tells the instructor something. As much as it tells you what students are learning, it’s also telling you what they aren’t learning.” ( Teaching in Higher Ed podcast episode 337 ). Assignment bottlenecks–where students get stuck or struggle–can be good indicators that students need further support or opportunities to practice prior to completing an assignment. This awareness can inform teaching decisions.
Triangulate the performance data by collecting student feedback, and noting your own reflections about what worked well and what did not. Revise the assignment instructions, rubric, and teaching practices accordingly. Consider how you might better align your assignment with your course objectives and/or provide more opportunities for students to practice using the knowledge and skills that they will rely on for the assignment. Additionally, keep in mind societal, disciplinary, and technological changes as you tweak your assignments for future use.
Now is a great time to reflect on your practices and experiences with assignment design and think critically about your approach. Take a closer look at an existing assignment. Questions to consider include: What is this assignment meant to do? What purpose does it serve? Why do you ask students to do this assignment? How are they prepared to complete the assignment? Does the assignment assess the kind of learning that you really want? What would help students learn from this assignment?
Using the tips in the previous section: How can the assignment be tweaked to be more authentic and meaningful to students?

Association of American Colleges & Universities (AAC&U) offers VALUE ADD (Assignment Design and Diagnostic) tools ( https://www.aacu.org/value-add-tools ) to help with the creation of clear and effective assignments that align with the desired learning outcomes and associated VALUE rubrics (Valid Assessment of Learning in Undergraduate Education). VALUE ADD encourages instructors to explicitly state assignment information such as the purpose of the assignment, what skills students will be using, how it aligns with course learning outcomes, the assignment type, the audience and context for the assignment, clear evaluation criteria, desired formatting, and expectations for completion whether individual or in a group.
Villarroel et al. (2017) propose a blueprint for building authentic assessments which includes four steps: 1) consider the workplace context, 2) design the authentic assessment; 3) learn and apply standards for judgement; and 4) give feedback.

Course Design
Getting started with assignment design.
Updated on October 30, 2023
When following the course development process of backwards design , you first identify the student learning goals for the course and then determine how you will measure student learning. Backwards design aims for alignment between what you want students to learn and how you are assessing their learning. In theory, you would finalize your course-level learning goals and goals for each major assignment before moving forward with assignment design. In practice, however, many instructors find assignment design to be an iterative process of drafting assignment-level goals, creating an assignment, and then adjusting both the goals and the assignment until they are in alignment with one another and with the course-level learning goals.

Assignment Goals & Assignment Type
Spending time on assignment-level goals can help you determine the kinds of assignments you want students to complete. For example, if you want students to determine which formula to use to solve a word problem, a well-designed multiple choice question might be a more efficient way to assess their learning than a short answer question. In addition, writing assignment-level goals can help you articulate where you want students to focus their time and energy, which can also impact the form the assessment takes. For example, when considering the learning goals for a research essay, you might decide that being able to choose a topic and develop a research question are crucial learning goals. Therefore, rather than having students draft and write an essay, they can submit a project proposal.
Here are some questions to help you determine learning goals and consider your assignment type:
- How do these goals align with your course-level goals?
- How do they align with the assignment type?
- Does your assignment type oblige students to focus their time and energy on what’s most important?
Depending on how you answer these questions, you may need to revise your assignment goals or assignment type. If you’re looking for some inspiration for different assignment types, the CTE is in the process of assembling some examples from BC faculty . For more examples, see Harvard University’s types of assignments or the University of Waterloo’s type of assignments and tests .
Course Rhythm
While this resource is about assignment design, not course design, it can be helpful to take a step back and see how a particular assignment fits into the larger rhythm of a course. In the book, Effective Grading , Barbara Walvoord and Virginia Johnson Anderson suggest creating a course skeleton that just includes the course-level learning goals and the major assessments. This allows you to check alignment and ask yourself, “Is the workload I am planning for myself and my students feasible, reasonable, strategically placed, and sustainable?” (18). If the answer to any part of this question is “no,” you may need to revise or change the timing of the assignment, or make changes to other major assessments. For example, having two major assignments due in the same week may not give students enough time to successfully complete both, or give you enough time to provide feedback on the first assignment that may help them as they finalize the second one. You might also strategically plan the rhythm of the semester around your own workload and other commitments, so that you are more able to keep up with the pace of providing feedback and grades to students. This sample course outline shows the benefit of moving from a topic-drive to a goal-driven approach to mapping out a course’s rhythm.
Once you have articulated your assignment-level goals, aligned them with your course-level goals and the assignment type, and considered the rhythm of your course, you can think about how you will clarify expectations for your students.

Creative assignment design.
This workshop explores how to design problem-based learning (PBL) assignments that tie the practice of skills or course objectives with a direct engagement with a student’s environment. We will discuss strategies for incorporating, across the disciplines, the vast range of resources NYC offers, including archives, museums, site exploration, and field visits, etc., into assignment design.
The Creative Assignment Design workshop was offered as as an in-person workshop at the Graduate Center, CUNY in Spring 2016. The workshop and materials were developed by Elizabeth Decker.

Workshop Plan
I. Introductions
II. Scaffolding and Example
I’d like to start by talking about scaffolding assignments and cover:
- what it means to scaffold assignments
- why people use it
- building skills
- building levels of thinking/processing
- how it works
III. Activity I
Coming up collaboratively with a list of skills we’d want to hit, then pair participants, and using the constraint of a smartphone as the material for the assignment, I’d ask them to think of ways to hit those skills (come up with a loose assignment design/a general idea)
IV. Discussion (discussion/recap of activity)→ Writing the assignment→ (broader)PBL, resources + example
After the activity and chatting about what we came up with, I’d like to talk about how we’d go about writing up those ideas as assignments for students. I’d cover:
- tips on writing an effective assignment
- how to situate information / too much text v. too little
- what modeling can the assignment perform?
Shift to talking about the assignment design/scaffolding on a larger scale
Example of PBL + incorporating readings (specifically theory readings) into ‘active learning’
V. Group Activity
Similar to the first activity. Make two or three groups and give them (the same?) a site/resource in nyc-area and a list of skills/objectives and ask them to sketch a quick design of an assignment that would make use of that site. Present ideas to each other / general discussion in groups and together of other site assignments they’ve done etc
VI. Questions and survey

Assignment Design
There’s a fine line between assignment design and assessment strategies . In short, designing good assignments is one means of assessing your students’ learning on a larger scale.
Assignments help measure student learning in your course. Effective assignment design in your course involves aligning your assignments with learning outcomes. When assignments and outcomes are aligned, good grades and good learning go hand in hand ( https://www.cmu.edu/teaching/designteach/design/assessments.html ).
Assessments fall into one of two categories, formative or summative .
Formative assessments are typically low-stakes and help students identify their strengths and weaknesses so that they can improve their learning. Routine formative assessments also help instructors identify the areas where students are struggling and adapt their teaching accordingly.
Summative assessments evaluate student learning (such as at the end of a unit of instruction). Summative assessments are generally higher stakes (like midterm exams and final projects).
Assignments are what students actually ‘do’ as part of those assessments.
Incorporating a mix of assignment activities in your course can help students practice and demonstrate their mastery of outcomes in multiple ways. Consider ways you can design your assignments so that they better mirror the application of knowledge in real-world scenarios. Assignments designed in this way are often referred to as Authentic Assessments ( Authentic-assessment.pdf (uwex.edu)). One type of highly authentic assessment is the long-term project which challenges students to solve a problem or complete a challenge requiring the application of course concepts ( Project_Based_Learning.pdf (uwex.edu) ).
More details and examples can be found in the tabbed content box below. Please also consider signing up for a CATL consultation with one of our instructional designers for some personalized assistance in developing your ideas for assignments and ensuring that they align with your course outcomes .
(Adapted from Carnegie Mellon's: Design and Teach a Course )
Assessments should provide instructors and students with evidence of how well students have mastered the course outcomes.
There are two major reasons for aligning assessments with learning outcomes.
- Alignment increases the probability that we will provide students with the opportunities to learn and practice knowledge and skills that instructors will require students know in the objectives and in the assessments. (Teaching to the assessment is a good thing.)
- When instructors align assessments with outcomes, students are more likely to translate "good grades" into "good learning." Conversely, when instructors misalign assessments with objectives, students will focus on getting good grades on the assessments, rather than focusing on mastering the material that the instructor finds important.
Instructors may use different types of assessments to measure student proficiency in a learning objective. Moreover, instructors may use the same activity to measure different objectives. To ensure a more accurate assessment of student proficiency, many instructional designers recommend that you use different kinds of activities so that students have multiple ways to practice and demonstrate their knowledge and skills.
Formative assessment
The goal of formative assessment is to monitor student learning to provide ongoing feedback that can be used by instructors to improve their teaching and by students to improve their learning. More specifically, formative assessments:
- help students identify their strengths and weaknesses and target areas that need work
- help faculty recognize where students are struggling and address problems immediately
Formative assessments are generally low stakes , which means that they have low or no point value. Examples of formative assessments include asking students to:
- draw a concept map in class to represent their understanding of a topic
- submit one or two sentences identifying the main point of a lecture
- turn in a research proposal for early feedback
Summative assessment
The goal of summative assessment is to evaluate student learning at the end of an instructional unit by comparing it against some standard or benchmark.
Summative assessments are often high stakes , which means that they have a high point value. Examples of summative assessments include:
- a midterm exam
- a final project
- a senior recital
Information from summative assessments can be used formatively when students or faculty use it to guide their efforts and activities in subsequent courses.
Formative Assessments:
- Reading quizzes
- Concept map
- Muddiest point
- Pro/con grid
- Focused paraphrasing
- Reflective journal
- Virtual lab/game
- Webconference
- Debate (synchronous or asynchronous)
- Participant research
- Peer review
Summative Assessments:
- Presentation
- Portfolio project

Items to consider when weighing your assessment options:
If you are thinking about using discussions, be sure to think about the following:.
- What kind of questions/situations do you want the students to discuss? Is it complex enough to allow students to build knowledge beyond the textbook? Will the discussion help students meet your objectives (and develop an answer for your essential questions)?
- What are your expectations for discussions? Should students participate (post) a certain number of times, with a certain number of words, and reply to a certain number of people?
- What is your role in the discussion (traffic cop, the person who clarifies issues, will you respond to every post)?
If you are thinking about using quizzes, be sure to think about the following:
- What type of questions will help your students meet the objectives of the course? Are you going to grade essay questions or just let the computer grade multiple choice questions?
- What is the place for academic integrity? Are you going to randomize questions, randomize answers, restrict time, restrict the answers that students can see after completing the exam?
- How are you going to populate your quiz? Are you going to write the questions or use questions that come from a textbook publisher?
If you are thinking of using essays, be sure to think about the following:
- Will these essays/papers help students to meet the course objectives, which ones? Is the length of the essay appropriate?
- What do you think about plagiarism checkers such as TurnItIn?
- To what extent will you allow students to submit drafts, and will you provide feedback on drafts, or will you use a peer review system?
Other items to consider:
- Are you thinking about using an alternative assignment? If so, you may want to talk with an instructional technologist or designer.
- Consider the type of feedback you will provide for each assignment. What should students expect from you; how will you communicate those expectations; and how soon will you provide feedback (realistically)?

Generally in school and college, the common format for assignment cover pages is
- Title of the assignment in bold
- Assignment Number
- A little description about the assignment in some cases
- Student full name
- Student roll
- Student Class
- Student Section
There are some additional sections available in some assignments in the lower class. Like in the primary level student, the assignment cover page has an option for guardian signature. In college and university-level assignments, you don’t need a guardian signature to submit assignments. However, different institution and teacher has different assignment rules.

How To Make An Attractive Assignment

The first question you don't ask yourself, when you get your college assignment brief, is how to make my assignment attractive. You're usually too focused on just getting the essay written. However, you should keep that question in the back of your mind. The more attractive your essay is, the more likely it is to get good marks. Here's a few ways to make your assignments more creative and engaging.
Write a strong introduction
Your introduction is the one chance you have to really hook your reader and get them interested in what you have to say. To make your essay more interesting, make sure you have a strong and unique point to argue in the main body. Then, you'll be able to present that argument in your introduction, drawing your readers in further.
Use relevant and interesting examples
When you're doing your research for your university essay, look for the most interesting sources you can to back up your arguments. The most recent and relevant the research you can find, the better. Find a new angle on your argument. How does the issue affect those in Australia? What does the future hold for your topic? The more original your argument, the better.
Plan your work
Good planning is the underpinning of all beautiful assignments. Take the time to sit and brainstorm all of your ideas before you commit them to paper. Then, you can narrow them down so you're only using the best ones when you're writing. Also, creating a plan means your assignment will be much more cohesive, and so easier to read.
Be sure you understand the question
Any school in Australia will mark you down if it's clear that you don't understand the question. Read the question carefully several times, and make notes. Is there anything you're not sure of? Take the time to ask your professor before you get started. Doing so means you won't waste time on answering the question incorrectly.
Do the research
Finally, don't neglect the study time needed to truly understand your subject. If you do the reading, it will shine through in your essay.
If you follow these tips, you'll create an attractive essay that will teach the reader something new, and keep them engaged as they read it. That way, you'll be much more likely to get good marks on your work. Keep these in the mind the next time you get an assignment.

Proofread Thoroughly
To meet the deadline, people often finish the assignment in a hurry. But, before submitting you should go through the entire assignment thoroughly. You can proofread it well and for more surety, you can ask your parents to check it.

Design Alchemy made sense of this once less-desirable space.
This window-filled addition, dating to a previous renovation, maximized the views of the historic home 's garden but included an unattractive HVAC bump-out and a dated circular column—which could not be removed without the ceiling collapsing. Design team Deborah Costa and Kristine Renee of Design Alchemy went full throttle to hide the ugly and embrace the beauty. After learning about memorable gatherings in this home, they knew music would need to be a major theme, so they filled the space with rhythm and flow—and a piano!
The designers added impactful color and got creative with the room’s less-desirable features, making every previous decision seem intentional. A wall of cabinetry hits several high notes: concealing ductwork, adding storage, and camouflaging an interior window. And that unsightly column was squared up and made into a high-top bar for impromptu cocktail parties. “We wanted the space to feel a little more uptown and sophisticated, but approachable,” Costa says. Though this is definitely invite-only.

Sitting Area

Panoramic views of the garden take center stage from every seat. The room’s distinctive tented ceiling offers great acoustics for a harmonious night in.

Balancing the room, two seating areas with identical sofas from Lee Industries await partygoers.
Removing the interior windows would have been costly. Floating shelves help disguise them and give them new purpose.

Ductwork is now beautifully concealed by Trim Tech cabinetry with Architectural Grille inserts. The cabinets also offer storage for records, sheet music, and a Zephyr Beverage Cooler .
Dining Booth

Given very few straight walls to work with, the designers took advantage of this corner to add a banquette by Lee Industries for more intimate conversations around the table by Serena & Lily .

This Fake Christmas Tree Is Beautiful, Simple, and a Great Value. It’s Been Our Pick Since 2016.

If I had my druthers, I would leave my Christmas tree up all year. Don’t @ me.
But alas, I cannot — at least not without my family revolting.
They have, however, graciously permitted me to set up our tree as soon as Halloween’s over so long as I put it away by New Year’s.
And so I need a tree that’s easy to get into the house, set up, and get out of the house and stored in the garage once Christmas is over.
In my experience, an artificial Christmas tree is a vastly preferable option to a real tree.
I know fake trees aren’t for everyone—especially if you lack storage space. But National Tree Company’s 7.5-foot Feel Real Downswept Douglas Fir , which has been Wirecutter’s top pick since 2016—and which I’ve owned and used for the last five Christmas seasons—is really terrific.
It’s beautiful, easy to set up and break down, and works wonderfully even after years of extended seasonal usage. And it really does give the illusion of being an actual tree — without the sticky, needly mess of the real thing.

National Tree Company 7.5-foot Feel Real Downswept Douglas Fir (PEDD1-D12-75)
The best artificial christmas tree.
Realistic, full, generously sized, and versatile, this LED-lit tree can switch between all-white and multicolor modes, and the lights connect as you put the sections together.
Buying Options
Our favorite fake tree is beautiful, durable, and beyond easy.

National Tree Company’s Downswept Douglas Fir comes in four pieces: a metal base, and three sections of fake tree. Each tree section is essentially a metal pole surrounded by a robust supply of hundreds of lifelike plastic branches with innumerable needles and already connected lights.
You can set up the entire tree in mere minutes.
The bottom tree section’s center pole fits easily into the metal base. Gravity’s pull takes nearly all of the plastic branches down into a natural looking-position once the metal pole is inserted into the base.
You repeat with the medium-sized tree section and smaller top section, inserting each metal pole into the larger piece below it.
It’s helpful from there to take another few minutes to manually rearrange and fluff the branches to fill out any empty-looking spots and ensure the tree looks consistently full from all angles.
And then you plug it in and hang your ornaments.

The 750 LED lights are already strung and connected to the branches. There’s no fussing with tangled cords and competing plugs. The Downswept Douglas Fir has a trunk-mounted PowerConnect system, which somehow automatically powers every light on the tree when the three tree sections are stacked together. There’s just one plug that lights up the whole tree. And there’s an easy-to-use foot pedal that cycles the lights through white, multicolor, and numerous variations.
Upon close inspection, no one would confuse my artificial tree for a real tree. But there’s no uncanny valley here. This fake tree is beautiful, and at a casual glance from across the room, looks just like a real tree.
Real trees can be expensive, messy, and difficult

I haven’t bought a real Christmas tree since 2018, when finding, buying, and arranging the delivery of a fully grown real tree in the suburbs was both expensive and annoying.
I admit, visiting the outdoor market to pick a tree had a certain seasonal sweetness. But from there, everything was a pain.
We overpaid to have the tree delivered to our house, because the closest place to buy a tree was miles away and our car would never accommodate a 6-foot tree.
After it was delivered, we had to drag the tree up our front steps and into our house, leaving a trail of sticky pine needles and other sappy detritus on our hardwood floor. (Because a fake tree breaks down into multiple sections, it’s much easier to move.)
Once we cleaned up the real tree’s mess, and managed to screw it into its base, we had to cordon it with doll houses and toys so that our dog wouldn’t poison himself by nibbling on pine needles and slurping up the tree’s nutrient-rich water—or trying to pee on this very-real tree.
We knew there had to be a better way. And so, come 2019, we bought a fake tree. And my goodness, was it a wonderful decision.
A fake tree is a great value—and durable
I bought our artificial tree for $400 in November 2019, after we’d moved from New Jersey to the New York suburbs. We’ve used our tree for five years running, and it’s still in terrific shape.
If I had bought a real tree each of the last five falls, not only would it have been an annoying and time-consuming pain, but I would easily have spent much more than $400 by now.
And while our journalists have concluded that live trees are better for the environment than fake trees, t he ecological impact of buying a fake tree once a decade is absolutely tiny compared to the environmental impact of many everyday activities. Indeed, I’ve likely made up the environmental cost of my fake tree simply by skipping annual trips to and from the tree lot.
Our National Tree Company tree is also a great value compared to fancier fake trees. This fall, I’ve been testing what we call “the Cadillac of Christmas trees”—our upgrade pick, the Balsam Hill 7.5-foot Fraser Fir Flip Tree Color + Clear LED . The Balsam Hill is gorgeous. It has more branches and lights than my National Tree Company model, it’s even easier to set up, and it has a nifty remote control.

It also costs roughly four times as much as my tree. The National Tree Company model is a tremendous value by comparison.
And our tree looks as good as the day we bought it. As far as I can tell, every single one of the 750 lights still works, and all of the nearly 2,000 plastic branch tips look as great and move as well as they did the day they arrived.
The only trouble I’ve ever had came when our robot vacuum accidentally severed a section of our tree’s electrical cord, after gobbling up several inches of the cord near the foot pedal used to control the lights.
I called customer service, and they charged me just $15 to send a replacement cord that arrived within 48 hours. Easy.
But be warned: Storage is a pain

This is perhaps the biggest downside of a fake tree: You don’t get rid of it when Christmas is over. You have to have space to store it.
I live in the suburbs, and storing the tree in my garage (or, alternatively, basement or attic) is easy. But if you live in a space-squeezed house or apartment, you may well be better off buying a real tree every year instead of trying to cram a bulky fake tree in a closet.
To store my tree, I bought this two-pack of storage bags for $20. One of them has torn a bit around the zipper over the last five years, but otherwise they’ve worked well. The bags’ handles make lugging the tree to my garage relatively easy, and the waterproof material has kept my tree in great shape through 10 months of storage each year.
